My Verizon plan includes the same services as I have in the USA, at NO additional charge RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - Lapchik - 05-10-2019 08:40 PM (05-10-2019 03:08 PM)ST Rich Wrote: So you will let me know where the RCMP are the whole way up??? You don't need to worry about those, motorcycle beats horse almost every time. RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - Frump - 05-13-2019 03:30 PM On my Verizon cell phone plan last year I added something called a "TravelPass" which has a fixed $5/day fee rate but only for the days on towers in Canada. More info here - https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/international-travel-faqs/ There is a link on that page to check your current plan to see what options are - https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/trip-planner-tool/ TravelPass is not a bad deal. If you use it, make sure you enable roaming before or when you get there. Unlimited calls, Unlimited message and data while you are there (if you have data and unlimited calls and messages on your regular plan). Dial US numbers with a +1 prefix. Otherwise but not as convenient, if your phone can make WiFi calls, just disable your cellular network and make your calls over WiFi networks when you are near one. You can enable cell service to make a 911 emergency call. There are plenty of WiFi hotspots, there is even a WiFi at the SeaAlaksa Inn in Hyder. RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - Powershouse - 05-23-2019 09:13 AM I've made my plans for Hyder and changed them several times now, but I think Ive settled on a final version. I'll be heading up Drumtheller to visit the Royal Tyrell Museum and camp at the Last Chance Saloon http://visitlastchancesaloon.com/ I may be there Thursday 5/30 but will definitely be there 5/31. Then it is off to Banff for a long weekend with Colleen. Leaving Banff on 6/5, planning to be in Watson Lake 6/6. Friday 6/7 will head south on the Cassiar Hwy bound for Hyder and the Sealaska Inn. I need to be home for some business on the 13th so I will be hitting the road Sunday morning and heading for home, passing through some classic Canadian towns. https://youtu.be/YT_BnlKRdoQ Will I be seeing anyone along the way? Kevin RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - LSGiant - 05-24-2019 10:43 AM Attached are two different routes out that I have planned. I believe Rich and Penny will be traveling with Joane and myself. We will make a final decision on what route depending on weather. After Hyder we have not decided what we are going to do it will depend on how things are going. We need to be back by July 2nd to dog sit. We are probably leaving June 2nd. The stops marked all have food within walking distance so once you stop for the evening you do not have to get back on the bike. RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - Sleddog - 05-25-2019 07:27 AM Marlene & I will be leaving June 1 or 2. Weather permitting, we plan to camp. We may cross into B.C. at Eureka/Roosville. I would like to take Marlene up along Lake Koocanusa. After Hyderseek, we plan to head north to Watson Lake. Meander our way home through Banff/Jasper & Ice field Parkway. The spiral railroad is something on the list to see. https://youtu.be/gEe9d69NpyM RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - imsunflower - 06-03-2019 11:39 AM My Friend Rachel and I are going to certify a Bun Burner Gold. Leaving June 4. Staying at Helena, MT then ending the Gold in Tonasket, WA Here is my Spotwalla page: https://spotwalla.com/publicTrips.php?un=imdaisy We will then stay in Prince George and get into Hyder on June 7th. Hoping for a little sun so we can take our cruisers to Salmon Glacier. Weather looks to be good all the way until we hit Hyder Excited to see you all there! Most interesting part of the last leg was being joined at my last Tim Hortons stop by two codgers in biker tees and long white beards telling me about their Alaska trip back in the day. RE: 2019 Hyder Seek Questions - Frump - 06-12-2019 11:50 AM I'm waiting for the shipping envelopes, so should be shipping t-shirts and caps Friday. Sorry about the delay, it took longer then I planned to get the order and then the mail to Hyder isn't very fast so I missed my window to ship them there.
