RE: Harvest Road Rally - AlvinB - 10-05-2014 11:59 AM I would like to thank everyone who showed up to ride! Fun Sports would be glad to host this again next year. I had a great time, even though it was a bit difficult to not be riding myself, it was great to see everyone and hear the post-ride stories! Despite the cold, it seems that most of you had good rides. RE: Harvest Road Rally - TBONE - 10-11-2014 08:05 AM Thanks for a great Harvest Rally Dave, Sharon, and Alvin! I had a great time and enjoyed seeing the new faces in the rookie class plus Steve and Chris from the Bonzai rally. I've attached my route, but am missing a bonus between C and D and can't remember the town....it was the implement bonus where there were 6 red farming implements and only 1 green one by the highway.... I'm sure Alvin will remember. BTW Thanks Alex K for the tip on the 2nd bonus in Cold Spring. I was pulling a Mike H and left the rally with only 60% of a plan, and was completely winging it at that point. That tricky Dave W. didn't have the town name in the heading of that bonus, pretty sneaky. The facilities at Fun Sports of Hutchinson and Squeeky's were some of the best ever for a rally and I highly recommend signing up for the Harvest Rally next year, it's a ton of fun and they're forcasting good weather! RE: Harvest Road Rally - AlvinB - 10-12-2014 10:00 PM The missing bonus was 5 miles west of Belgrade. Thanks for sharing Beth. It's fun to see how the pros do it! RE: Harvest Road Rally - DrmRdr - 10-13-2014 09:54 PM I would like to thank all the riders that came to the Harvest Rally. I know it was cool but I was happy for no snow or rain. Also thank you to the volunteers. Janette and Derek were a great help to make our bonus locations interesting. I have included a link to my photo account which includes what Sharon did while I took a nap. We had a great time doing the rally and hope everyone enjoyed themselves. There were bonus locations from past years and some new ones. Reading comprehension was the theme this year with no GPS coordinates. Coordinating everything from a distance brought its own challenge for Sharon and myself. I told the GLMC I would RM the Harvest Rally for one year while they get someone else interested. I was able to talk Alvin Bertram in to volunteering next year. Congratulations Alvin. The trophies are a one time thing celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the Harvest Road Rally. I hope the riders that won one enjoy them. https://plus.google.com/photos/108643193240816961621/albums/6069869887056104929?banner=pwa Hope the link works for you. Dave RE: Harvest Road Rally - Don Q - 10-15-2014 05:13 PM Thanks Alvin for taking on the Harvest.Nothing better than being able to fix your bike at the start. One of my neighbors bought an older VW beetle so I know where to find one. How long before sign up? RE: Harvest Road Rally - LSGiant - 10-15-2014 05:24 PM Yes your wife told me about the beetle but it was packed away somewhere RE: Harvest Road Rally - Don Q - 10-17-2014 08:22 PM Funny, she didnt tell me until after the Rally. |
