RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - ajayhawkfan - 04-28-2020 11:47 AM States are starting to open up. Any though of re-opening the challenge as well? RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Don Q - 05-01-2020 06:21 PM Just find a GT item on your way to pick up your essentials. That's what I plan on doing. Call it a shake down run for next year. Make it a personal essential GT. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - BikerJonW - 05-08-2020 04:37 PM OK. So the final word is that this GT is temporarily postponed due to Covid, but will actually run through to October next year. Am I correct here? Also, can I still sign up now and run part of it this year and finish next year? Reason I haven't signed up yet is Norton warning on the sign up sheet and continued crappy weather in Michigan. Its snowing out at this time. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - xander84 - 05-09-2020 11:24 AM The Grand Tour has been postponed indefinitely. Currently there is no need to sign up as after sign-up the only thing you receive is a new placard which we won't be issuing until we've decided to resume the rally. Once it resumes, it will continue through to October 2021. The resumed Grand Tour will have the same theme and rules as the postponed rally meant to start in March 2020. We will notify everyone through the forum and by email once the Grand Tour resumes. Thanks for every ones patience during this time. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Tipsy - 06-24-2020 08:38 PM What are the chances that the G.T. will resume this summer? I’m assuming it will continue through 2021. Doing some route planning. Doing some route planning. The situation is fluid. As much as I wish to know what will happen, we aren't going to attempt to predict when it will restart. When it does restart, the tour will continue through until October 2021. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - xander84 - 02-25-2021 09:10 AM I just sent out an email, via Ridemaster, to all registered riders. The Grand Tour will resume on March 1. Let me know if you didn't receive the email and I will forward you any information needed. glmcgrandtour@gmail.com RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Powershouse - 02-25-2021 10:23 AM Hot dang, let's ride! RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - ajayhawkfan - 02-26-2021 12:05 PM I received my number yesterday. I'm ready to go. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - ajayhawkfan - 03-03-2021 02:46 PM In 2020 I grabbed a number of scenic byways and scenic overlooks. In 2021 can I visit the same places and get credit for both years? RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - xander84 - 03-03-2021 04:47 PM (03-03-2021 02:46 PM)ajayhawkfan Wrote: In 2020 I grabbed a number of scenic byways and scenic overlooks. You're certainly welcome to revisit a fun location though. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Lapchik - 03-04-2021 09:51 AM Would the Lincoln Highway count as 1 or 2 if I got Iowa and Nebraska locations? RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - xander84 - 03-04-2021 09:55 AM (03-04-2021 09:51 AM)Lapchik Wrote: Would the Lincoln Highway count as 1 or 2 if I got Iowa and Nebraska locations? Please see first page of this thread, Cruzin asked a similar question. Essentially if it has different state designations, then it would count individually for each state. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - 239 - 03-13-2021 05:23 PM for scenic byways that cross state lines, like the us national historic highway [US-40] or the great river road, are they once and done and how much of them must you actually ride to claim credit? RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - xander84 - 03-13-2021 08:15 PM (03-13-2021 05:23 PM)239 Wrote: for scenic byways that cross state lines, like the us national historic highway [US-40] or the great river road, are they once and done and how much of them must you actually ride to claim credit? As long as the signs are differentiated in each state, then the road in each state can count as one point. Each specific road can only be counted once. Please see the first couple pages of this thread, as this is covered in more detail with other examples. For credited points, from the rules sheet: Qualifying photos include your bike, GT flag and any sign along the road that includes the name of the byway. RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Sioux Falls - 04-14-2021 04:00 PM I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find it. I apologize in advance if it was. Are "memorial highways" such as THP SCT Lowell Russell Highway acceptable ? Also are "drives" such as Veterans Memorial Drive acceptable ? I would need to see the signs to say for sure, but those don't sound like they would count. If you can't get find a picture or link to those specific roads to post up before your ride, there would be no harm submitting them though at the end of the tour.
