I think the safe thing for me living in Florida is to not talk about the sunshine and 70+ degree weather. So… I won’t mention it, nor will I mention already having five murals. Smile

We're all drunk in ice shacks catching Walleye, but we'll catch up in June when the snow melts.

Here are my first efforts. Half way through a finish. Smile. Hopefully I’ll get a lot of riding in this year.

I believe they're call "bragging rights". I'm building my collection.

Biggles,
You are going to either need a much bigger rally flag or chase smaller murals Tongue

If I'm not mistaken, they are the grain silos at Yelarbon, QLD

RE: 2023 Grand Tour General Discussion - Biggles - 01-08-2023 07:59 PM

Yep- Yelarbon.
I agree about the Rally Flag- I'm used to a more prominent number.
Maybe I should stick with these: Big Grin

Nice bird mural, but as the Actress said to the Bishop "size does matter".

The resolution/file size is limited on the message board, but I can see the original picture well enough when zoomed in.

This is a cropped image of a mural located on the wall of the Andrew "Boy" Charlton Swimming Centre, and if you look closely, you will see his initials ( AC ) repeated in the mural. I thought that was kind of cool.

I like the MC Escher style repeating pattern art. That blue paint makes a big difference in what would be a very boring building if monochromatic.

In other news, I bought a CB500X today and pick it up on Tuesday. Not that the RM can ride the GT but I have plenty of destinations in mind.

Congratulation of the new bike. It looks like a nice "middle weight" Adventure Tourer.

When can we expect to see another video of you riding it out onto the frozen lake ??

RE: 2023 Grand Tour General Discussion - Lapchik - 01-10-2023 06:21 PM

Ah, probably not this winter. Too much snow now for screws to be effective. Probably won't put a turbo on it either. Probably.

Wonder how many gallons of paint that took!?

New player here, first time trying this particular event. Done a few of the Team Strange tours and a few rallies. I'm off to a decent start so far, have to play around the weather here.

Restaurant about 5 miles from my house. I do have a better photo with a more clear rally placard in it.

Are the burritos any good there? Ride to eat is a pretty popular reason to get on a bike for this crowd too.

Yeah, they're not bad at all. Neato Burrito is a local deal with 3 or 4 locations. This one happens to be in New Cumberland, PA and there is a decent sized parking lot right in front of it.Their other shops all seem to be in strip malls so this one is our "go to" if we feel like visiting one.

It is now Sunday morning here in Oz, which means that the industrial suburb near my home, which typically has heavy traffic with lots of trucks and absolutely no street parking, is largely deserted . . . a perfect time to go bonus hunting.

Here is my favourite mural from this morning's hunt, a Japanese styled crane.

Fine mural, DownUnder, but if it's meant to be part of your collection you'll need to get your bike into the picture somehow.

This one is on a highway, on the other side of the barrier. There is a lane between the barrier and the mural (for other country riders, we ride on the left in Oz):

Hi Biggles,
You mean something like this ??

[Image: AL9nZEV67KyMI8K7PxxSWDXb9uqoU6QgYFPs9QZe...er=0?0.jpg]

Actually, the whole wall of the factory is a mural. I took 2 photos, (1) the bonus photo with mural+flag+bike and the (2) of just the crane section of the mural which I found particularly attractive. Big Grin
