You should send a close-up of the chip in a separate photo if not legible in the first photo containing your ride and the dealer. If riding two-up, each rider needs their own chip." I don't think a dealer in general will permit you to take the Chip outside without first paying for it. While you say you don't have to buy it, that is dealer dependent to let you borrow it for a picture. I stopped at my local HD place and their chip was 2.50, which I suspect is on the low end of price. Any consideration to allow the picture taken inside at the counter with the flag and then one take outside with your ride, flag and dealership building? Chip submissions do not need to be from a G, L, M, C town. If they are then they are worth 2 points. Make sure you designate how many points you are claiming for each chip in your submission." The way I read it you get nothing if you don't have the chip. The extra point is just for a GLMC town as a bonus Willie RE: 2025 Grand Tour Q&A - Lapchik - 03-30-2025 05:49 PM (03-30-2025 05:15 PM)Willie Wrote:(03-30-2025 11:45 AM)Lapchik Wrote: Good thing the chips are optional. . . Yes, and that chip portion of the GT is optional. You don't have to do a single chip picture to finish the event. Point being if you don't want to spend $2-5 per chip, you don't have to. Go get run down diners and dive bars instead, which are free to take pictures of. RE: 2025 Grand Tour Q&A - Yzr - 03-30-2025 07:23 PM I've run across a few that will let you take a chip outside without a purchase for a photo op. Indian of Toledo - which is actually in Maumee, OH would be such a place. Ask for Gabe. Sometimes he is next door at the Honda motorcycle dealership. All you have to do is ask by calling ahead of time. If anyone is wants to visit Gabe, let me know and I will connect the two of you to arrange the same. But yes, chips are totally optional and not necessary to complete the GT. There shouldn't be any issues with getting a chip pic indoors without purchasing. It would appear that a pic of your rally flag and bike in front of the dealer and then another with your rally flag inside with the chip showing the dealer would work if they were submitted and taken together on the same day would work. "It would appear that a pic of your rally flag and bike in front of the dealer and then another with your rally flag inside with the chip showing the dealer would work if they were submitted and taken together on the same day would work." This was original question. Is this an official revision ? I have lost track who is the Rally Master. Willie RE: 2025 Grand Tour Q&A - JohnF - 03-31-2025 06:46 PM And no one has even brought up the part of the rule that states, "...you holding a chip on your ride in front of the dealer..." Not really clear if it is me or rally card that needs to be ON your ride, but to me it reads that I need to be on my ride. John F Cincinnati, OH RE: 2025 Grand Tour Q&A - Lee_0123 - 04-01-2025 09:30 AM Thanks for the clarification Steven |
