Looks good Dave. Thanks for the code lesson. Can you update the scoring Kory. Dave should be at 20 now. What's next Dave?

I'm not doing scoring anymore. Scoring is for competitions, this is a game for fun.

Your bike and one of those big green construction dumpster.

Does it have to be a green or will any color construction dumpster work?

I'm pretty sure there's green ones at the U of M.

I have my moments.

After some recent events in the photo tag game I have taken a look at some changes. These changes are the result of visiting with fellow riders and friends. After having a somewhat large lead I think some riders are not jumping in anymore because they feel they can’t catch the leader. I also feel keeping points is part of the challenge and excitement of getting the next tag. One rider mentioned how he likes to see someone get snipped on the tag. To me this is part of the fun. Here are a few things I would like to see if anyone agrees.
Rules are the same, post a tag and someone else goes and gets it.
The first person that gets the tag names the next tag and so on.
No archive photo.
The game runs on a month to month cycle. I will try to explain this.
Say I had the most tags on May 31 I would be top dog for the month of May.
On June 1 the photo tag resets to 0 and we start over and run until June 30.
Because I was top dog at the end of May I would call the first tag on June 1.
Also as the top dog in May I would have to keep score for the month of June.
On June 30 whoever was top dog for the month of June would call the first tag for July and keep score for the month of July. On the first day of each month all scores would be reset to zero.
I think this would keep the fun in the game and what’s wrong with a little competition? After all each month everyone gets a fresh start.
What do you think?
Dave

Seems overly complicated. Competition is what rallies are for. The less to worry about the better.

I would suggest:
1. Post a tag and someone else goes and gets it.
2. First person that gets the tag sets the next tag.
3. No archive photos.

Just sayin.

Very interesting ideas, I think keeping score doesn't hurt and resetting it at a certain time is a great idea. At the rate some of you yahoos are going, 100 tags could be had before the end of summer. Maybe month to month during summer and Nov-April keep together, those ones in the winter are always really fun.
The two main reasons I have yet to score any points is laziness & forgetfulness, don't really care to catch anyone but others might be thinking like Dave said.
Maybe creating a new thread each month would help keep it from getting to be pages and pages long?

Maybe we could have a poll of some sort and have everyone weigh in anonymously. I think there are people out there that have an opinion on the photo tag game but fear public retribution for their comments.

MikeH, you could stop by Arnold's Park on the way home some day and start the location tag game up maybe. That game never took off past the first location tag.

I don't care if we keep score or not. The people playing the game are going to know who is getting the most tags even if we don't keep score. I'm not going to play or not play because of how many tags I have or if someone has way more. Heck, the other tag game that I play has a guy playing who has 10 times more than everyone else, but that doesn't make it any less fun.
What ever is decided I will continue to play and have fun doing so.

Tulip festival going on, people everywhere, and not a single big dumpster in sight.

RE: Photo Tag game? - xander84 - 05-16-2014 05:08 PM

Was it decided has to be green?

RE: Photo Tag game? - DrmRdr - 05-16-2014 05:29 PM

Does not have to be green. Does have to be a construction demolition dumpster. All most every construction site has one.

I don't get the on and off sale stuff in Minnesota. So is on sale a place where you can only drink it there and off sale a place where you can take it away or are the on sale places like bulk discount or something and off sale is just normal price? Everything in Iowa is just a "liquor store"

This is correct.
For how much us Minnesotans complain about liquor sales, and some of our goofy rules, I'm just glad we aren't in a state that has a majority of dry counties.

Looks good Mr. DrmRdr.
