RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Willie - 03-01-2016 09:16 PM Any update on the Specific places to capture ?? Willie RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Lapchik - 03-02-2016 01:50 PM I'd guess it'll be announced at the spring meeting RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - propforward - 03-02-2016 08:07 PM Hope it's announced here as well. I can't make the spring meeting. I wanted to see Charles Turners presentation, but alas I shall miss that. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Lapchik - 03-02-2016 08:23 PM I'm going to try to get video of the meeting. At the very least there will be an email summary RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - MikeH - 03-02-2016 08:54 PM Hoping to send it to Frump on Friday. Just finishing up. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - propforward - 03-03-2016 08:33 AM Splendid! Thanks for all your work on this GT Mike, I really think it's a great theme. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Pirate Gonzo - 03-03-2016 09:24 AM I agree with Prop, this is a great theme and must be a ton of work for you Mike so thanks for that. It is going to be my first GT and while other obligations are going to severely damper my riding this year I really look forward to having one more reason to wander around on my bikes. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - paper - 03-07-2016 07:22 AM MIKE!!!!! MIKE!!!!! MIKE!!!! Those are CHEERS!! The specific locations are fantastic!!! It's like merging a GT and a Road Rally all in one, and I can't wait to start!!! Ok, I can wait, but I'm really looking forward to this!!! Thanks again everyone who put this together! This is gonna be FUN!!! RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Bart - 03-07-2016 10:44 AM Awesome job, Mike. I'm really looking forward to this one. Yeah, I've been to a fair number of the specific locations before, but one in particular was amusing to see on the list. This one: I actually stayed overnight there - it was cheap! The manager was kinda crabby and the lobby had a lot of clowns and clown-related miscellany. And there's an old cemetery right next door. Good times in Tonopah. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - propforward - 03-07-2016 12:04 PM I might point out that there is a specific location chosen for yours truly. Because I'm speshul. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - paper - 03-07-2016 12:21 PM Big Louie Fur Trader?? I had this done shortly after arriving at work today.. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - MikeH - 03-07-2016 12:45 PM And with that post I see a typo. The dual soldier monument was to the only county in Alabama to not join the Confederacy. I had planned on writing a little blurb for why I picked each location but time was not on my side. So there may be other locations chosen with specific riders in mind. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - propforward - 03-07-2016 01:06 PM They are also speshul. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Lapchik - 03-07-2016 07:30 PM I just skimmed the list. Looks like it will be a really fun year! Hoping to take my daughter with me a lot this year. RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - Willie - 03-08-2016 05:51 AM Great spots for this years Grand Tour. Started logging them in to Google Maps so I can convert to MapSource. Should be able to hit quit a few while we start our 4th National Park Tour. I just might say the heck with the NPT and concentrate on these and Team Strange election one. Thanks for the work Mike. It is not easy !!! Willie RE: Any thoughts on what the Grand Tour Theme is - StarWolve - 03-08-2016 09:06 AM I'm getting excited about this year's GT. I have a few locations picked out for "special" places, and I'm looking forward to riding a bit farther to get some points. My Dad will be riding with us again this year, and I think a few of the "Old Coots on Scoots" motorcycle club are planning to join him. (Like they need any excuse to ride - I've seen them turn a lunch ride to a diner 5 miles away into a 250 mile jaunt!) Also, I think I'm going to enter my fiance this year. She would have finished the GT if she had entered, as she rode to almost every location with me and was a great photographer. I was going to send you a Paul Bunyan but I seen you had that figured out |
