Question about State Parks. I visited Harmony Mission Conservation Area. Do you consider a Conservation Area as State Park? It has camping, fishing, hiking and hunting.

Sorry, it's not a state park if it doesn't have state park in the name.

Sorry, not the other 417 areas.

There are 10,234 state park units in the United States, at least one in every state.
And to specify, the intended state parks are the ones listed on this link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_state_parks_by_U.S._state

To further specify, when in doubt, the name of the location should be "_____ National Park" or "_______ State Park"

Hope that clears everything up.

That makes it simple. Thank you.

Does anyone have a KML/KMZ of all the state/national parks? And for the record, Lake City is on the way to...absolutely nowhere X^D

GA-7 (Golden Peanut Company) should be "The Crime and Punishment Museum" and is also included in Combo-B.

After reading the Hollister reply a few pages back, I thought I would ask to be sure I understood before I get rolling. This would be acceptable (it's inactive)?

And this would not because it is now a brewhouse and restaurant, even though it is actually the old Train Depot building?

They are both Wisconsin, so it doesn't matter to me if the later is tossed out.

Correct

Do any of these count for IA-6 Hart-Parr tractor? The museum is closed on the weekend and there is no street parking. The parking lot in the back of the building had a tractor on loan.

That should work Don, looks like you got the pic of the tractor in the last one.

Thanks.

Below is a pic at the entrance of Quaddick State Park in Thompson CT. Note the sign simply say Quaddic and then a Connecticut State Park. Wikipedia has this listed at Quaddick State Park

So does this qualify for one of the State Parks. Asking because it does not say Quaddick State Park in one statement.

Just gives the opportunity to ride more & visit more state parks with the proper sign!

If I was scoring, I would count this.
It has the name of the location and says State Park.

That's the spirit!

Does the tractor in the window count as two points?
There is a dinosaur reflection in the window. Wink

RE: 2017 Grand Tour Questions - Don Q - 05-10-2017 06:54 PM

No, because we want to visit other towns.

RE: 2017 Grand Tour Questions - ajayhawkfan - 05-15-2017 01:45 PM

No question, but a comment:

I am thoroughly enjoying the Grand Tour especially the specific locations. So far the ones I have visited in MO and KS were not new to me but it has been years since visiting and I made sure the route to get them was an adventure. That made visiting them again worthwhile.

This past weekend I visited Coffeyville, KS the side of the Dalton Gang's 1892 raid. http://www.coffeyville.com/index.aspx?NID=347

One of the murals in Coffeyville:

According to family history I had a great great grandfather in that shootout.

I've wondered about State Historical Parks and now, of all things, a State Resort Park. It's not you average campground, but it is run by the Kentucky State Parks. You okay with this "State Park" if there is a word between State and Park?

Looks good to me, its in the list of Kentucky State Parks.

The grave is in Littleton, Colorado. The coordinates are correct. Lake City is where he stopped for a "snack".

Littleton, CO is my home town... I'd be surprised if we can get into the cemetery with the bikes at Alferd's grave.... over the years there has been lots of tampering... so it will probably be a duel picture credit situation... just a guess

Also, gotta say, I love the Depot thing... I am a Retired RR Engineer... I stop a depots anyway

I've had a couple health setbacks so my riding may be limited this year
I do plan to get my "20" Tee shirt but probably won't be very competitive
Pancreatitus and eye surgery... but the bike service went well
new rear shock, bleed the brakes (not easy on a ST1300) 3rd times a charm

6/10/17 - A good start... 3 depots and a specific today... first ride... new tire installed
