I'm planning a trip to wrap up my Grand Tour - but in researching, I think that NC-6 is no longer the same name:
NC-6 - Frontier Barbeque
Sugar Mountain, 36.12035,-81.83469

It looks like it used to be Frontier BBQ, then Pappy's BBQ, and is now the Pedalin Pig. Will find out Friday.

Wouldn't want to change the preconceived notions of what every one thinks Joisey is. This is just a reinforcing picture of those notions. You know the Jersey Turnpike, Jersey City, Orange, etc etc Big Grin

I would guess, the same thing as not having a flag in the picture!

Naming Our Submission Photos - RedShift - 09-04-2017 03:19 PM

As the end of the Grand Tour comes into sight, I would like to ask if there is a preference in how to name our submission photos.

My style has been this:

IN-GL1a Pokagon State Park

Format decodes as:
<State> - <Category> (optional supporting photo) <Location Name>

So to interpret above, the photo is for Indiana, General Location 1, first of two Parks (State or National), and the picture is for Pokagon State Park in North-East Indiana.

For a Specific Location I just use:

MI-2 Sutton's Bay Galleries

<State> - <Specific Location Number> <Location Name>

If I have more than one picture to support a location, then I add a letter after the Specific Location, such as:

MI-5b Tawas Pt Lighthouse Closeup

This format should provide some order to the target locations, listing in order of state and aligned by Specific and General Location.

This works for me, but what about our scorer Alex ?

Actually, the object referred to at the given coordinates was the Green and White DOT sign that read, "Entering Boro of Teterboro."

Points for Rider #120 and #521 are going in the mail today.

I think I ended up with 24, and my father 46. He could have had a lot more, as he took a 3 week trip out west and hit a number of national parks - but he was riding with a group, and didn't want to hold them up each time he saw a school or something,

The Frontier BBQ in NC is now the Pedaling Pig - I confirmed that one with the manager, that it's changed hands a couple times in the last few years.
