Buffalo Rally - MikeH - 07-29-2013 10:56 AM Any info on what time this thing will start in the morning or when the rally pack will be handed out (or how you guys plan on doing it)? I'm thinking I may just head down the morning of the rally. I had planned on calling the hotel this week but it doesn't matter either since its still a little early. I'll fill out the entry tonight and it will likely sit on my counter for at least a week before it gets mailed. RE: Buffalo Rally - Frump - 07-29-2013 02:42 PM I'm not your mom - MAIL IT IN NOW!! (... that goes for all of you). From the Rally Page: Hotel: We have a block of rooms reserved at the Days Inn, 115 River Dr., North Sioux City, SD 57049. Phone number (605) 232-3366. The hotel is nearly adjacent to the Community Center where the rally will start and end and close to gas and "other" retail services. The group rate is $60/night and its available for both Saturday and Sunday evenings. Make sure you mention "Buffalo Run" when you book your room to get the discount. They really liked our group last year, so they gave us a better rate this year! Host Location: The 2013 Buffalo Road Rally will "officially" begin and end at the North Sioux City Community Center, 205 Sodrac Drive, North Sioux City, South Dakota (GPS 42.526646,-96.502275). I believe Shooter said last weekend that final rally instructions will be handed out Sunday morning at 6:30 and you will be free to leave the start point at 7:00. I'm guessing Odo checks will start at 6 AM. Shooter is planning on having his regular feed Saturday evening. I'm sure he will elaborate further. Most of this info will be posted below in Announcements area and on the Rally Page (http://www.glmc.org/buffalo.php) before the rally. Oh, and Dreamrider has provided us with an awesome t-shirt idea for this year. Any group preferences on color? Note 1: Correction about GPS checks at 6 AM made above. RE: Buffalo Rally - TBONE - 07-29-2013 02:47 PM Hey Mom! Could you explain the "GPS Check" at 6am? RE: Buffalo Rally - MikeH - 07-29-2013 03:05 PM I'll wait for Shooter to verify but based on 6:30am final details & 7am leave time, we must be getting the bulk of the rally packet sometime before. My preference is getting the waypoints a day or two early with no points assigned to them but however it works will be fun. Speaking of t-shirts, if anyone has an idea for grand tour t-shirt, I'd like to know, my artistic skills are terrible. I'm assuming mom is confused and meant ODO check at 6am. However I'd hate to assume anything that mom is thinking.... RE: Buffalo Rally - Lapchik - 07-29-2013 05:23 PM Black shirts. To match my black truck, black Connie, and soon to be black CRF. Shooter will probably throw in black like my soul, so I'll throw it in now and beat him to it. And Frump, my entry was sent in early March RE: Buffalo Rally - Frump - 07-29-2013 10:04 PM Lapchik - we have your entry. I'll get a list up soon of all the ones which we have. RE: Buffalo Rally - Breeze - 08-05-2013 05:32 PM Shooter, what is acceptable for the insurance requirement? Proof of insurance card? Declaration sheet showing coverage amounts? Or copy of full policy? Don't want to loose points for not having the correct paperwork. RE: Buffalo Rally - Shooter - 08-05-2013 09:49 PM (08-05-2013 05:32 PM)Breeze Wrote: Shooter, what is acceptable for the insurance requirement? You only need to show your license and "proof" of insurance. This is a club rule for liability. The first time I had ever been asked at a GLMC event was at the Bonzai this spring. It's just a CYA thing along with you signing 3 different waivers. So to answer your question....what ever you hand the cops if you get pulled over. Card, Declaration sheet, or full policy in triplicate for Breeze with your home owners insurance, last months fuel receipts, all of your GLMC trophies, and your HOG card. A bottle of Morgan might go a long ways also. Don't read to much into the "rules", no tricks just trying to be a little more organized. The parking lot can get congested with non participants in the morning and that's what I'm trying to park everyone in one area and it makes it easy for the person checking odometers so they don't have to zigzag around finding everyone. Pull in and take care of everything in about 1 minute and then relax till the rider meeting. We have to leave plenty of time for me to talk also unless we want to start late....lol We have about 95% completion on the bonus pack and it's looking very interesting. Get your registrations in and bring a friend it will be the most fun on two wheels labor day weekend!!!! RE: Buffalo Rally - Breeze - 08-06-2013 12:03 AM last months fuel receipts? Are you going to reimburse us? RE: Buffalo Rally - Shooter - 08-06-2013 12:23 AM (08-06-2013 12:03 AM)Breeze Wrote: last months fuel receipts? Hahaha.....noooooo More like triangulating good roads to ride around that area since I will have free time weekdays after work. I wonder how many GT's I can get down there? Might have to do a "livin after midnight" ride to get the greater metro area so I don't have to deal with traffic.... lots of GT's in the metro and south A VERY target rich environment. RE: Buffalo Rally - Breeze - 08-06-2013 09:06 AM Oh Sure Now you wanna come fishin in our spot. RE: Buffalo Rally - Shooter - 08-06-2013 01:57 PM (08-06-2013 09:06 AM)Breeze Wrote: Oh Sure Next thing you know I will want to borrow your bike and have you make me a .gpx file so I don't get lost. I need all the help I can get finding GT's you know. RE: Buffalo Rally - Frump - 08-07-2013 12:28 AM Can everyone who has not contacted me yet or already sent your registration who knows they are riding post here or email me? I'm in charge of getting the rider list setup. Thanks, Frump. RE: Buffalo Rally - Bob C - 08-08-2013 04:20 PM Frump, I plan on attending. #27 RE: Buffalo Rally - Shooter - 08-08-2013 05:32 PM (08-08-2013 04:20 PM)Bob C Wrote: Frump, Awesome Bob!!!!! Are you going to drag any Bjorks along with you? or a gas can? It's gonna be fun!!!!! RE: Buffalo Rally - Bob C - 08-10-2013 01:42 PM I'm pretty sure Dave B. will enter too, not sure about Sarah. I've also invited some other Illinois boys. Mike Land just sent me a text, and he sent in his paper work. This will be his first 12hr event, or any event for that matter. Illinois will be represented. And yes to an extra bottle of gas. Reason for the delay is that Dave and I were thinking about doing the Border to Border run held by the MTF group on Labor day weekend. But my body said not again. We just finished the Great Lakes Gold a few weeks ago, and need some fun time. RE: Buffalo Rally - TVodehnal - 08-10-2013 01:43 PM Greetings fellow motorcycle freaks. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and participating in my first GLMC event. See you all at the feast Saturday night. RE: Buffalo Rally - Shooter - 08-10-2013 03:46 PM As usual we are getting A LOT of late entries for the rally but don't worry keep them coming!!!!! Frump will be ordering t-shirts soon so if your on the fence get off it and come join the fun!!!!! Once again we will be roasting a hog so bring some friends or I will start filling saddle bags with leftovers!!!!! RE: Buffalo Rally - Cruzin - 08-12-2013 07:04 AM (08-06-2013 09:06 AM)Breeze Wrote: Oh Sure I don't think I would invite him along fishing Breeze, he is not very good at keeping quite As you well know RE: Buffalo Rally - Frump - 08-12-2013 01:18 PM The signups have been pretty smooth and normal. Both Nebraska and Illinois will be well represented as well as Minnesota. I'm hoping get to the t-shirt order in this Friday or next Monday. I'll order a few extra shirts, but I would appreciate a heads up from anyone on the fence or coming who hasn't emailed me or sent in their registrations. Next year we are going to give a discount to people who send their registration in early because it does help. I'm not faulting you late signup people, mostly because you are my people. |
