I don't speak Garmin. Need some pointers - Scot229 - 05-21-2014 07:10 AM My folks are riding in the Bonzai this weekend and they have a GPS. I don't know how to help them make use of it for a road rally. Can someone at the hotel give us some pointers on saturday? RE: I don't speak Garmin. Need some pointers - LSGiant - 05-21-2014 07:26 AM First off we need to know what model GPS RE: I don't speak Garmin. Need some pointers - Anita Johnson - 05-21-2014 08:02 AM Garmin nuvi 2505. Thanks for any tips you can give us. We're real rookies in this aspect. RE: I don't speak Garmin. Need some pointers - propforward - 05-21-2014 08:11 AM I'll be glad to try and help. Are you bringing a laptop with you? If so make sure you have basecamp loaded on it. Basecamp is mapping software from Garmin, and it is free, download it from the Garmin website. You can use basecamp to create routes which you then upload to the GPS. I will be at the hotel on saturday evening, and I can give you a run through if that helps. I use a different GPS (Nuvi 550), but uploading routes and setting up waypoints should be pretty much the same. I'll take a look at the user manual for your GPS and try and be a bit prepared. EDIT: I did just take a look, and the 2505 will receive routes from basecamp, which is good news. If you're not bringing a laptop, then we can use my little netbook. Should be able to figure something out. RE: I don't speak Garmin. Need some pointers - Essnowyt - 05-21-2014 08:58 PM Recalculating... I am more than happy to help as well.
