New Yamaha - xander84 - 11-03-2014 04:27 PM I think I know what I'm going to start saving my pennies for. http://www.yamahamotorsports.com/sport/products/modelhome/721/0/home.aspx RE: New Yamaha - Lapchik - 11-03-2014 05:14 PM The regular version is great in a straight line, but needs a lot of work to get it to turn. Comprable to a Kawasaki Versys. Tall, doesn't like to turn without a lot of effort. RE: New Yamaha - xander84 - 11-03-2014 05:18 PM Compared to what? I'm not exactly riding a corner carver right now. RE: New Yamaha - xander84 - 11-03-2014 05:56 PM Yeah, but I don't have a Versys ![]() I'll have to ride one myself. RE: New Yamaha - Lapchik - 11-03-2014 06:04 PM I've ridden both. Feel about the same but the yamaha has more power and wheelies a lot easier. They did make a bunch of changes to the Kawi lineup this year too. A parallel twin cruiser, Versys 1000, and a Verys 650 tourer. Vulcan S, 650cc parallel twin ![]() Versys 650 LT ![]() Versys 1000 LT ![]() Yamaha also has an FZ07, direct competitor to the Versys ![]() Lots of cool bikes coming out, then there is this ugly blob of a Honda. ![]() RE: New Yamaha - xander84 - 11-03-2014 06:07 PM Yes, versys 1000 is also on my list. Going to be a fun year at the bike show. RE: New Yamaha - Lapchik - 11-03-2014 06:40 PM Ducati scrambler . . .it haunts my dreams RE: New Yamaha - xander84 - 11-03-2014 07:11 PM Yes, I really liked that one also. And the new BMW RS looks very nice. RE: New Yamaha - Lapchik - 11-03-2014 07:13 PM There are new Harley's too, but they look just like the old ones. RE: New Yamaha - LSGiant - 11-03-2014 09:48 PM Sport Tour ? Chain drive ![]() ![]() ![]() Looks like a standard with a half fairing. RE: New Yamaha - Scot229 - 11-07-2014 10:39 AM My second bike, 1980 XS650. I put 10k miles on it before I got my first Sportster (third bike overall). It was a fun bike. My first bike was a 1967 Kawasaki A7 Avenger 350. That was also a fun bike, until I crashed it. ![]() Lots of tuning to get these Mikuni's dialed in. But I picked up 4 hp, better gas mileage and it was 2 kicks cold one kick warm. ![]() RE: New Yamaha - Frump - 11-10-2014 05:28 PM Not sure what I was thinking: ![]() Now if I can just figure out how to get the rust out of the gas cap key hole we can maybe start cleaning the tank. Its probably going to be a sponge for my left-over pennies for a while.
