I've got the "winter's draggin on along blues" . . .decided to work on stuff. What is everyone else working on? Here's my CRF250L right now. . .

I got the WR back together yesterday. Changed a couple valve shims & installed a manual cam chain tensioner. Back together I took it for a short ride on some gravel roads....Damn it's fun to get back on a bike after a couple months off....

I've got to put a couple new tires on & check the steering head bearings & the WR will be done.

The wee Strom is next for a valve check & front tire.....

Forks are off the Concours and at Alvin's for new seals and a flush. I ordered a fender extender and radiator guard for that bike. I need to take the rest of the plastic off and find out where the extra screws go. I also want to flush the brake and hydraulic lines.

I am still debating if i want to take the DRZ apart and figure out why it is using a little oil. Does not look like to much in parts just a medium amount of labor.

I have been working on the garage, to make it usable for a shop too.
Walls have been insulated, lights installed and heater is hung.
Blowing the insulation in tomorrow.
Pics of projects soon :-)

Ok . . .so I decide to put shocks on the back of my truck because the ride is getting pretty rough. Easy enough, right? Wrong. One side went ok, but I broke a bolt on the other side. I took the tire off so I could swing a hammer and use a punch to drive out the broken bolt. I notice fluid coming out of the brake drum. "Well, it must be some ice and snow that got in there. I bet the adjuster plug fell out," I say to myself. But oh no, much worse than that . . .it smells like 90 weight gear oil! It is leaking past the seal of the axle. It is either just a bad seal, or the bearing has worn into the axle and cut a groove in it, meaning I will need to replace the axle. Oh, take pity on this weary mechanic dear automotive gods! He can't take much more of this!

Just some simple improvements. Rear shock off a GSXR1000 installed on the Bandit and DL650 handguards on the FJR.

Tank on the Turbo is better, but still not ready. Evapo Rust did part its job, but there is still some spots on the bottom of the tank which have some petroleum based black crud stuck to it. Going to have to strain the black chunnks out of Evapo Rust and then throw it back in with a couple hands full of screws.

Before (top down):

Current (bottom up through fuel sensor hole):

There is still some black crud still stuck in the tank. Washed again at car wash and black crud still not out. I'm going to have to put some screws in and do a bit of shaking to try to loosen that up more. Will also need to filter the Evapo Rust stuff before I put it back into the tank again.
