Photo's - DrmRdr - 12-13-2015 02:58 AM It seams like everything has gone to google photo plus. How do I post photos from google photo plus? Dave RE: Photo's - DrmRdr - 12-14-2015 05:49 PM Ok, if no one is using google for pictures what are you using? Dave RE: Photo's - LSGiant - 12-14-2015 07:11 PM I pay for smugmug got burned on the freebee stuff. I do have a google + account but it is to much like facebook and I don't do facebook. Google + is easy to use and free RE: Photo's - Sleddog - 12-15-2015 07:35 AM I also pay for & use Smugmug. I have a Photobucket account too but, seldom use it anymore because it's so slow & full of advertisements. RE: Photo's - propforward - 12-15-2015 08:54 AM I use photobucket, but pay for it. The only reason I did that over smugmug is because the smugmug mobile app was useless for posting photos from ones phone, which was essential for ADVrider phototag games when they were popular. I understand the smugmug mobile app is a bit better now, but transferring my stuff is too much of a pain now, so I stick with photobucket, which is a pretty good service if you have a paid subscription - currently 23 bucks a year. Does away with the ads. The guy who owns smugmug also owns ADVrider, so that's a consideration for some also. I liked smugmug as a service when I tried it. If only the app were more gooder then. RE: Photo's - Frump - 12-15-2015 02:48 PM I have a paid Google Picasa/G+ account. I was originally paying $20/year, but they reduced it to $5/year a few years back. Paid storage is applied to all your Google accounts. I like it because it makes transferring photos from my Android phone easier. I use this URL quite a bit to get the old setup (rather then G+): https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/myphotos?noredirect=1 I use the web interface and not picassa apps. Sharing integrates directly into G+ (https://plus.google.com/+BrionHase) RE: Photo's - Sleddog - 12-15-2015 05:01 PM Prop, Did you know with the new system on ADV you can now post photos directly from your mobile device. No need for Taptalk! RE: Photo's - propforward - 12-16-2015 08:58 AM Yes I saw that. The new system is a lot easier to use with regular browsers, and makes the mobile photo posting bit even easier. When I first started playing photo tag my "smartish" phone didn't have copy and paste ability, and I had to manually type the entire IMG code to post a picture. What a pain in the arse that was. Still managed to snipe a few tags though. First post is a link. Second is a photo of Dave. RE: Photo's - LSGiant - 12-26-2015 04:31 PM OK agreed RE: Photo's - paper - 12-28-2015 10:18 PM Paying Photobucket user, so no ads, unlimited views, and currently allowed 31GB of storage, of which I'm using 30%. My current favorite thing is the automatic download from my phone to PB storage. Very handy for work (I should make them pay for the use) And it's very easy to use.. RE: Photo's - Frump - 02-12-2016 03:19 PM Thanks Google!! -> http://googlephotos.blogspot.com/2016/02/moving-on-from-picasa.html I have about 10 or 12 years of photo albums on Picasa. I like the simple Picasa web interface and don't use the invasive Picasa desktop app (I hate the app). I just want a simple photo hosting service I know is going to be around for a long time, one I can pick photos to upload to from PC or phone, one with simple editing tools and a way to copy/paste image URL, and one where I don't give away ownership or rights to my photos. I'm not a fan of Google+ Photos, FB or Apple. Anyone know a service which can suck up all my Picasa photo albums, captions, and comments and move them to a normal photo sharing service? Should I be looking at Photo Bucket? RE: Photo's - paper - 02-16-2016 03:01 PM (02-12-2016 03:19 PM)Frump Wrote: Should I be looking at Photo Bucket? Frump, I'm not sure if you can download from one to the other. Photobucket's customer service isn't bad and has answered my questions/issues pretty quickly in the past.. My only issue with Photobucket is that all I really want them for is a photo hosting service. I don't want mugs, blankets, or condoms with my photos on them. I don't want any of their "print" items, and get tired of them trying to push them on me. On the other hand, I'm very accustomed to the service and it works for me. I tried Smugmug but just didn't like the layout, but as we know, what works for one may not work for others.. My suggestion is that you try Photobucket for free and see if you like the layout and functions. Just remember that if you pay for it, you won't get all the ads.. Just one Photobucket banner ad at the top of the main page. And here's a photo to make us all appreciate upcoming warmer weather.
