Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Sleddog - 01-05-2016 07:50 AM The International MC show is February 5th 6th & 7th. Start Saturday Morning off by meeting at 9ish for breakfast at Fat Nats 3540 Winnetka Ave N New Hope, MN 55427 Head off to the motorcycle show & oogle & awgle over the new bikes. (SOMEONE could even get their picture taken with a 2016 bike & snipe the current picture tag!!!! How awesome would that be?) About 5:00 PM head over to Market Bar-B-Que. Just a short walk from the Convention Center. Market Bar-B-Que 1414 Nicollet Ave S Minneapolis, MN RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Frump - 01-05-2016 02:25 PM Any hotel recommendations? RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Lapchik - 01-05-2016 09:06 PM Planning on being there Friday night to Sunday morning. Hope to see everyone there RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - propforward - 01-06-2016 10:16 AM (01-05-2016 02:25 PM)Frump Wrote: Any hotel recommendations? I like the Millenium. Not cheap though. None of them are, downtown. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Frump - 01-08-2016 03:48 PM The last couple years we have stayed out of downtown and used savings to take a taxi. That allowed me to enjoy a couple Big Squealers at Marketplace BBQ. I think last year we were at some place near St. Louis Park. So, any recommendations in that area or near downtown? Looking forward to seeing everyone. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - dajuice - 01-14-2016 10:04 PM If i were one of you from out of town, I'd do this... I normally stay in either the Marquette Hotel or Doubletree when I need a place downtown. Both are Hilton Brands, the Marquette is in the IDS tower, I see $100 a night on Kayak, I've stayed there for as low as $65 and it is a nice place with a great view of downtown. The Doubletree I see for $70 a night and is more basic than the Marquette and doesn't have as good a view. You can walk to the Convention Center / Market BBQ from both. I think parking is $20 a night or so at either, I know the Marquette lets you come and go as often as you want for free and I'd assume the Doubletree does also. I'd drive out to Fat Natts then return to the hotel and grab an Uber or walk to the convention center. Then Stumble or Uber back to the Marquette at the end of the night. Uber will be the $5 minimum to get those few blocks. I've come to use Uber quite a bit. I had a cab ride in Orlando a few months ago because the airport locked out Uber from picking up. It was a $75 cab ride out. Uber could bring me back and it was $25. For hotels closer to St. Louis Park, I don't have any experience with them but I see quite a few options in the $60-100 range looking at Kayak. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Lapchik - 01-24-2016 02:18 PM Rowan asked if she could go with me, and used her best puppy dog look, so I had to say yes. If she still feels like going next week, I'm going to bring her along. She is excited to see Jack and new motorcycles [today anyway, we will have to see if that lasts]. She's been riding around asking if it is time to go yet. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - LSGiant - 01-27-2016 01:38 PM I have not as I am on a different schedule that day. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Lapchik - 01-27-2016 05:14 PM I nominate you for that job, Cruzin. you know, Since you brought it up RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Sleddog - 01-27-2016 05:33 PM (01-27-2016 01:28 PM)Cruzin Wrote: Market Bar-B-Que Quote:Has anyone given these places a heads up yet? Do I take 60 through worthington and Mankato or do I just interstate it the whole way? RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - LSGiant - 02-04-2016 01:53 PM 60 to 169 RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Lapchik - 02-04-2016 03:08 PM Anywhere good to eat in le seur? I'm sure Rowan will need a break about then. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - xander84 - 02-04-2016 04:59 PM Define "good." If you're set on stopping in Le Sueur, my vote would be "The Bar". Unless you like pizza which I hear is very good at the Cheese Shoppe, but that's all they have besides cheese and other gourmet snacks, they may have sandwiches also. Mankato or St. Peter have many more options. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - LSGiant - 02-05-2016 08:46 AM As Alex said not much for choices you would think I could use a little weight. The Subway in the Holiday has booths to sit at for another option. The restaurant attached to the mall is below par. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Lapchik - 02-06-2016 05:24 PM After she decided that she didn't miss Mommy too bad and had breakfast, Rowan perked up. Every little motorcycle was found and sat on. RE: Fat Nats, MC Show & BBQ - Lapchik - 02-06-2016 08:41 PM If anyone else got photos of Rowan at Market BBQ, let me know. I would like to see what she was up to when she was going around making friends. |
