Specific locations have been posted in the grand tour section.

First question if our quest is to find the town name on a sign does a side of a building count as a sign or do we interpret literally ??

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - MikeH - 03-08-2016 10:44 AM

Side of building is fine. Anything with the town name on it within the town limits. Think the same rules as previous GT's. Post Offices actually can count this year.

I got a question on scooter use. As long as the scooter is licensed, I have no problem with using it for location collecting.

Mike
When you get time would you post an example of how you would like photos submitted. I know you are flexible but I am sure some of us would not mind using a template that works for you. That way I do not need to create something.

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - MikeH - 03-14-2016 03:14 PM

I'm not really sure what the best way to submit will be. I guess labeling the photos with the location code would be a nice place to start.
For general, something with the state.

Does an excel spreadsheet with photo links help?
I did that last year, but if it didn't help at all I can just label the photos.

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - MikeH - 03-14-2016 04:42 PM

the spreadsheet is nice, the links aren't really needed. I'll have to review what some people did in previous years to stir up some ideas.

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - Lapchik - 03-14-2016 07:15 PM

I was going to label the generic locations IAG1, IAG2, etc. for each of the 5.

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - LSGiant - 03-16-2016 12:30 PM

I was thinking MN1G, MN2G and so on for Minnesota, UT1G, UT2G, and so on for Utah for the generic ones

Hierarchical using punctuation makes it easier to read, sort and organize: IA_GL_01, IA_SL_10, UT-GL-03, & UT-SL-10 where 'SL' indicates a Specific Location and GL indicates a General Location?

Mike, I know it states in the rules that the Rally Placard can be any size, but I just want to be sure what I plan to do doesn't fall under the response of, "but we didn't mean that size." In the BMR rally, many riders are using a small 3"x4" finger held placard. The rider holds it out in front of the camera and has the bike and object to be photographed in the background. Is it OK to use this MINI PLACARD?

TIA,
JEF...Cincinnati, OH

3"x4" finger held placard...I like that idea

Hey John stealing ideas from the Big Money Rally are you ?
I was going to use the little cards for sure.

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - MikeH - 03-18-2016 06:49 AM

The little cards are fine

RE: 2016 Grand Tour Questions - JohnF - 03-18-2016 08:11 PM

Thanks, idea borrowed...have been using them the past two years.

Mike, The Dale Earnhardt Statue in NC should be NC3!

IS Washington DC considered a state for this Grand Tour ??

Does this qualify for a Veteran Memorial. Reason I ask it is not a statue of a soldier, a monument to a BATTLE, or a vehicle, but it is a monument to WWI Veterans. Not sure if we need to interpret the General Spots narrowly or with the intent of the spot

Hi all. 1st Grand tour for me. Do you want all the pictures held until the end of the season, or would you like them spread out a bit? (once a month, or whatever)

Thanks,

Lee Pomeroy
