Boni-Prep update - Homefire - 03-30-2016 10:26 AM

When I spoke about Bonii-Prep for rally planning at the recent club meeting, there was a question about how it handled combo bonuses. At the time I had to say it didn't. Now I can say it does, and very nicely I believe.

Combo bonuses are entered on one line along with the single bonus locations, exported as tracks in the same file as the waypoints, and displayed as a thin track line between combo locations. This makes the combos visible, for route planning. The point value of the combo and its included locations is shown on the track display.

Version 1.9 is available at <http://turnlink.net> for Excel and the free OpenOffice and LibreOffice spreadsheet programs on Windows and Mac. Try it out in prep for the Bonzi 2016.

RE: Boni-Prep update 2 - Homefire - 04-08-2016 09:23 AM

Boni-Prep v.10 is now available. Two new features may be of interest to both rally masters and riders. First, Boni-Prep can now import waypoints directly from a GPX file. No more opening, copying, and pasting from files provided by rally masters or others.

Second, bonus points can now be optionally included in an exported GPX file (they are inserted in the description field of the file). When that file is imported by Bonii-Prep, the description field contents go into the Points column for use in route preparation. A rally master can eliminate the need for riders to manually enter point values if he/she chooses to.

Boni-Prep v.10 is free and is available at <http://turnlink.net>.

Versions are available for Excel and the free LibreOffice spreadsheets on Windows and Mac. Unfortunately OpenOffice does not support the importing requirements of V.10, although other features continue to work with OpenOffice.

I'm not any good at rallies....maybe this will help. I just need to learn it as quickly as you update it now!

Boni-Prep v1.11 has been posted. This is a small update that is probably of interest mostly to rally masters. The program will now optionally export waypoint information to a text (.txt) file along with the .gpx file. I'm sorry, but I'm not able to export to a .dbf file.

There are no additional updates currently on the to-do list.

Available for free at <http://turnlink.net/rally> for Excel and LibreOffice spreadsheets, Mac and Windows.

I get some sort of error not found when I click on the link for 1.11

RE: Boni-Prep update - Homefire - 04-22-2016 04:29 PM

Error corrected.
Thank you for reporting.
Once again, it seems there is no such thing as too much checking.

Got it. Thank you

My apologies to those who tried the Bonii-Prep combo feature at the Bonzi and it didn't work. It did work if the combo definitions were at the top of the list, but not otherwise. That has now been fixed in v1.11a where the combo definitions can be on any line of the locations.

Bonii-Prep v.1.11a is free and is available at <http://turnlink.net>.

Thanks for all the work you put into this Charles
