22nd Annual Big Sioux Riders - Autobahn Spring Mother’s Day Campout at the Dam
Ft. Randall Dam, Pickstown, South Dakota - May 9th - 11th, 2025

The 22nd Annual Big Sioux Riders Spring Mother’s Day Campout at the Dam will officially be Friday, Saturday and Sunday, May 9 - 11th (Mother’s Day weekend). This is an informal campout. Though we can’t guarantee it won’t snow or rain, friends and fellow riders are invited to join us at Randall Creek Recreation Area near the Fort Randall Dam, Pickstown, South Dakota.
Dave Moore will lead a group ride to Fort Randall leaving at 11 am from the South Sioux City HyVee gas station at 11 am. There will be a lunch stop at the "Country Cafe" at approx 1 pm near the highway corner in Niobrara, NE.

Riders are responsible for obtaining their own SD State Park vehicle permits this year ($8/day or buy an annual).
The campout will cost $15/day which covers food, coffee and firewood. An additional $10 total for tent camping (either one or two days). RV’rs and cabin dwellers will be charged $15/person/day. We will cook and dine at the
campground both Friday and Saturday evening. Both Friday and Saturday dinner will be brats, sides, chips and dessert. We will provide plenty of hot coffee all weekend to keep everyone warm, please bring a coffee mug. We
will ride Saturday somewhere in the area for breakfast and lunch or you can ride on your own.
We have reserved camping spots 25E in advance and will grab 27E & 26E (non-reservable spot) if needed, so please camp in that area. The restrooms are modern with hot showers and are very close. Park rules allow us to have up to 6 campers per site, so grab nearby spots as we fill what we have. If they stop you at the gate, buy your vehicle permit, but tell them you are with the club and we will settle with the ranger for everyone that evening.
We have rented two nearby cabins which include a bunk bed (2 singles) and a double bed. You must supply your own bedding (e.g. a sleeping bag and pillow). Contact Dave or Brion if you're interested in a cabin bunk and we’ll
see what we can work out.
