Route suggestions
I am heading to Colorado Springs in a couple of weeks. I am looking for route suggestions and must see attractions along the way. After Colorado Springs Kerrville, Texas same request.

RE: Route suggestions
Don't take the interstate through Nebraska, and don't bother with the Northeast corner of Kansas. That's the way I went in 2012, nothing to see. Maybe hit the sorc road in Arnold/dunning NE that's a fun road

Highway 12 across Nebraska. Highway 27 through the Sandhills south of Gordon. Carhenge in Alliance. Fort Robinson near Crawford, Nebraska is an interesting stop. Ames Monument near Laramie, Wyoming

There is something peaceful and spiritual about the Sandhills, especially if you can do it in the morning when there is no or little traffic.

RE: Route suggestions
Not sure how far or where you spending the night but I like the Tradewinds Motel in Valentine. There’s a pretty good steakhouse a few blocks away.
