RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
I got it. It said something about a basecamp class. I'm looking forward to picking up a few hints and tips from that.

If you folks that need power for the base camp training can throw a power strip in your bag it may be helpful.

It's not a competition, It's a demonstration. "Rowan"

If you folks who didn't get it could check their spam folder and maybe update their email address on their forum profile, it would be appreciated? I'll see if I can setup a better from address (rather then glmcmail012@gmail.com) which we can use in the future. I believe that is why they might have been marked as spam by some email providers.

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
Well, I have a compression injury on my right foot [hurray, it's not broken!], so I will be driving instead of riding if anyone in NW IA wants to ride with me. I can seat one more person in my truck, or two more if you are very small and can fit in the jump seats in the back of my Ford Ranger. I can also bring my loading ramp if anyone is riding and worried about getting back if the weather turns to shit.

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
It was a great meeting with some excellent discussion. I thought the resolution on group riding in road rallies was an excellent decision.

I hope my little tutorial thing was of value - seems like we managed to get a few folks past the initial basecamp wankery, once you're past that, you're off and running.

I was glad to attend - this is a great bunch of folks.

LSGiant? I missed the first few minutes (or so). It would be better if LSGiant (Jeff) reviewed what we covered and the new rally rule change.

I thought the meeting went pretty good and I appreciated Prop's basecamp presentation. I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to everyone who made it there.

Next time I'm going to assign Kory to navigation duties because I obviously can no longer entrusted with them when driving the cage.

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
In a nutshell.....

Discussions from RM about their rallies....

The only significant change is the Ice cycle Derby, it's back----Don Q will be the RM.

Rule change regarding team riding in rallies.

It was decided that all teams (limited to 4 people per team) would compete in the same class, including Two-Up. A novice riding with other novices or an experienced or expert rider would compete as a team member in the team class. He would forfeit his "novice status" & the next rally he would be in experienced. (provided he rides solo) However, he would still receive the novice discount for his entry fee.

There was discussion about mileage caps for rallies. In the end, it was voted against making a rule change.

After the business meeting Propforward gave an excellent presentation on the use of Basecamp. A worthwhile tool that can be used when planning routes. Be it for a rally, Grand Tour or just out knocking around.

Thanks again to everyone....
