RE: Rider down
Got worried when I saw that his spot hadn't tracked today.

Sent him a message and Jack said "I crashed near Murdo. Broken leg and ribs. Rolling me into surgery now."

I've talked to Marlene since, and he is ok and recovering in Sioux Falls hospital. He will probably be there for a night or two for monitoring.

Been there done that a couple of times over the last couple of years. You will be healed up in no time. It is just really boring waiting on that healing....

If you really get bored we can compare X-rays.... Ha Ha

Jack sorry to heard about the get off. Only good news is that you'll heal in time for the BBQ.

Dust sucks so I'll lead.

Had another one go down, but I don't think he was injured.

Doug said he wasn't seriously hurt, but I heard from some folks at Saturday breakfast that he hurt his ribs pretty good. Also heard that he hasn't sure what happened for sure, but maybe the lean angle might have been to much.

Big Jim's wife also went down about 4 weeks ago at about 50 mph south of Wagner, SD. She had her full gear on, got a little banged up, spent 6 or 7 hours in the hospital getting tests done but then was released. She got bruised up badly and tore up some muscles in her rib cage, but no serious damage. Her R1200RT was totaled. I think she was told no biking or swimming for 4 weeks.

Tom "Bullet" (BSR & BMW MOA) had a guy-wire incident while camping at the Kansas Rally and busted his shoulder up. He can't ride for 2 months now.

Original Randy had a minor incident on an I-29 entrance ramp a week ago. Rider and bike are Ok, underwear and pride not so much.

Be watchful and wear your gear.

RE: Rider down
Been a real tough week. Heard about Sleddog on Thursday and it got me a little worried and then Sunday morning I got called about this one. The guy was a security guard at work and a good friend. We all preached to him to take a MSF course and not to play in town at those speeds. Tragic that he took a kids life with his own....

Enough already. My mother still thinks the best about my motorcycle is when I haul it in the trailer.

RE: Rider down
Well I'm on the mend. Things are going good considering. I went to the Dr last week & my lung is healing fine.

Today I went to the Orto Dr & they removed the stiches & recast the leg. They didn't take any new pics today as it's too soon to see how the healing is progressing. They'll do them in 3 weeks. The best thing they did was wash my foot & leg & flossed between my toes! Now I know what pedicures are about!

Here's a couple to compare with Dana.....

Thanks again for all the calls, txts & cards! Hope to see y'all soon.

RE: Rider down
Oh I just love those twist breaks. That is what I did the first time on my XR. Then when I did it again on the snowmobile the plate was still in there and I bent the plate and broke the bones in even more placed... Now there are 2 plates in there... Oh fun. Ha Ha

I have pictures but I won't post unless you want me too.....

Looks like the doctor did a good job on the plate. You should heal up nice. Do the physical therapy, it will speed up the process for full recovery. If you have any questions hit me up on Email. You should have my email?

You will be back riding before the snow flies....
