Spring is coming....
I heard a robin singing this morning when I walked out to my car for work. He sounded really cold yet happy to still be alive and that the sun was shining. It was -13. I'm wondering if he is going to make it or be turned into a bird pop cycle.
Had my snow blower out Sunday for the first time this year. We got 4 - 6" Saturday. Probably not enough snow to justify moving around the bikes to get it out, but I was getting worried I wouldn't get a chance to use it this year (which is really weird). It started right up (electric start), but it took me a minute to get the auger to fully engage? Most of the snow has been landing either N, S, W, or E of us this year. How is spring going for all of you? Everyone excited about it? |

RE: Spring is coming....
Meteorological Spring arrived on March 1st and "they" (a.k.a the weather fear mongers) made a big deal of it on TV Friday night. Saturday happened to be warmish (35) and I got the bike out for a quick spin....then the weather turned.
IF you happen to be a hockey fan, you saw what our weather was like here in Chicago on Saturday night (http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console...0&lang=en) ...I live South East of the city in Indiana and we got 5 inches Saturday night/Sunday morning plus and another inch or so of Lake effect "fallout". The latest "fallout" has set a new record (6 feet total) for the year. Today was 5 deg when we dropped my daughter off for tennis practice this morning at 5am. Before we left, the TV was on and "they" say its supposed to be 37 Thursday and above freezing the rest of the week and into next week. On a positive note: I saw a bluejay, bluebird and a couple of woodpeckers on the feeder yesterday though which is a good sign. The squirrels are out too. Our horses have started shedding which usually means spring is not to far off. Poor things have been inside since mid-December and can't wait to get out. I'm riding to work Thursday & Friday! Weather be dammed!!! I have electrics! |

RE: Spring is coming....
got to ride to work today. 28deg this morning, 42 this afternoon and 50 Sunday & Monday. The looks on the highway were priceless!
I had to dig out first then ride this (the driveway if there somewhere) and I slipped 10 feet from the end.... |

I hope the fact that you are here writing about it means you are not hurt! Known too many people who got hurt just tipping over at a dead stop.
I do admire your grit in riding in the snow! |

RE: Spring is coming....
I wonder about the guy who started this thread. Here are a few pictures of my view of spring.
I am not as brave as drphil, I will wait for more snow to go. I have to admit, the picture with the motorcycle in the garage door. I rode the bike 20' to the front of the garage. Dave Did someone say spring View from my patio door There is a 24' speed boat in there |
