Rim Locks?
Thinking about putting rim locks on my CRF250L. Just wondering if they are worth it as I do air up/air down during rides, and really don't want to loose a tire or tube on the road. Do these make the bike vibrate when driving on normal roads?

RE: Rim Locks?
If you don't balance them, yes they will cause vibration.

RE: Rim Locks?
Unless you're running psi in the single digits there really isn't any reason to use them. And, if you do get a flat on the road they're a pita to deal with.
Here's a little trick to help you see if the tire is moving on the rim. Back off the nut against the valve cap, if the tire moves the stem will tilt at an angle before being pulled out. |

RE: Rim Locks?
I'm probably going to put rim locks in my set of rims with the knobbies I use for off road only, and leave the 50/50 tire set without them.
I seem to remember somebody doing that this year . . . . http://www.youtube.com/korysrides |
