2026 Grand Tour General Discussion

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
With Roadside America, they don't update missing locations unless someone tells them it's gone.

Also, some "gone but not forgotten" locations still exist in some capacity. The International Banana Museum in Mecca, California closed in 2019 but Skip's store is still there and there is a banana statue out front.

I’ve noticed that some RoadsideAmerica locations are 9/11 memorials. Would other large 9/11 memorials in places not mentioned qualify for scoring if located in G L M C towns?

Some places seem to be run by space aliens.

If its isn't listed, it doesn't qualify. We need a third party listing to verify submissions.

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
Hello Everyone,

Steve, I'm confused.
Are we visiting as many sites as possible and logging the total as long as the towns begin with a G,L,M, or C?
Or are we restricted to one site per town? Gettysburg has many sites.

Thanks man, and thanks for running this again.

It looks like one location per town, unless it's in a different state.

From the rules:
Locations and Requirements - Each location scores one point. Duplicate town names are permissible if the towns
are in a separate state, district, Bundesland, province, or L'état.

That's pretty much what I thought too as it follows past rally practices.

Correct. One site per town.

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
A 56 mile, 36°F ride today for 1 Grand Tour point. The church is on roadside America already, but I need to submit the totem pole to RA before I can claim it for points.

These were the two closest sites to where I live; the next closest one is on a steep and ice covered gravel road. I have the feeling that I'm going to have to wait a while to get that with the temperature diving back down into the teens.

The nearest paved location requires an 85 mile Ride, which is not something I'm going to attempt after work with such limited daylight hours and low temps this time of year.

I did consider driving from the totem pole across Lake Minnewaska to the little church in Long Beach, but my trailmax missions are nearly down to the wear bars and I don't have any ice screws in them. A quick check with the binoculars did not reveal a maintained ice road to where I needed to be, so I took the asphalt paved shore road instead.

No idea what's going on with the pictures. I couldn't get an ADVRider photo to show up here, but the Google site photo worked. When I came back later, it's no longer working.

Eh. If you want to see what I'm up to, it's here: https://advrider.com/f/threads/travels-w...k.1831647/

Kory, I can't see your stuff without creating an ADVRider account.

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
I submitted two different locations to Roadside America, and I will report back with publishing times for anyone who was thinking of doing that. Glenwood and Clitherall, MN have roadside items I knew about, so I went and took pictures. Waiting until it's published to send in the GT photos.

Location question.

Rancho Cucamonga CA, Casa Grande AZ and Camp Verde AZ, each have Roadside America sites.

Will they count if one of the words in the town name has the required GLMC?

I'm not going to sign up yet as I'm still in a rehab recovering from a late September accident in which I was not at fault. I'm planning on playing but have to wait until I'm home and know if I'll even be able to ride again.

Per the location question…

Question:

Location question.
Rancho Cucamonga CA, Casa Grande AZ and Camp Verde AZ, each have Roadside America sites.
Will they count if one of the words in the town name has the required GLMC?

Rule: Any and all qualifying locations need to be in towns that starts with G, L, M, C.

Answer: Casa Grande and Camp Verde each count. Rancho Cucamonga does not as it starts with R.
