basecamp problems
I recently switched to basecamp. I'm trying to enter the bonus locations for the Bonzai and can't seem to make waypoints with gps coordinates. Can someone help? This is frustrating as hell. I tried yelling at my computer, but that didn't work either.

RE: basecamp problems
Stolen from ADV
It's a pain, but it sounds as though the Windows version has yet another difference from the Mac..... Create a waypoint in the middle of nowhere. Open up the properties of the waypoint and change the co-ords to what you need them to be. The waypoint will move to that position. This assumes that the Windows version will let you edit waypoint properties. It's not a competition, It's a demonstration. RE: basecamp problems
Yes, what LS Giant said works with the windows version.
It's not what I would call a friendly piece of software, but quite powerful once you know your way around its foibles. Or see me tonight and I'll give them to you on a GPX file. Or I can email them. Bloody Garmin. Here I am, the day before my first rally, and my last update screwed up my netbook, so here I am at work attempting to resolve all my software issues. *facepalm* Happy dayz. It is an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem. |

RE: basecamp problems
Thanks guys, I just switched to Mapsource today, so I'll fumble through that for the Bonzai. I appreciate the offers for help. I might still need some help.

RE: basecamp problems
Is there any way to import an excel sheet of waypoints like you can in streets and trips? I need something to use for the DS ADV rally and my laptop won't install S&T so I'm pretty sure I need a quick basecamp lesson

RE: basecamp problems
Garmin POI loader
Also, find someone with an old Garmin NT8 or maps from 2009 or 2010 on disk. You can load the old version of Mapsource and then update to the latest version. Or there are a few places where an image can be found on the interwebs......... |
