RE: DakAL Trip Planning
Rooms reserved (w/the cool kids @ the Dollar Inn)

Will have a Colorado CC with tonneau cover if Mary and Marlene need another option.

Thanks Jack, really appreciate the time you have already taken to coordinate this ride!

RE: DakAL Trip Planning
I talked to Cheryl at JC Stagestop today. Sounds like everyone that's called has a room. A couple cabins with one person that's said they have a bunk mate but didn't say who. So, hopefully nothing is double booked.

Ambercrombie, I think she has tried to contact you.

If they run out of rooms the options will be to stay at the motel in Aladdin, which I haven't been to. Or in Belle Fourche.

Well I guess I'm looking for a room mate for this DakAL ride.

My good buddy John from Spearfish has just returned from vacation last night and was able to get back to me about this ride this morning. He's afraid his dance card is full this year and can not commit to riding the DakAL with this group in September.

I've booked rooms at all six locations from Sept 9th - 14th for double occupancy and will have an extra bed available at all locations. I've rode to rallies across country several times and roomed with strangers who became great new friends from the FJRforum.com. It has always turned out to be a great experience and have several great friends because of it. So I will throw it out there. I am looking for a second rider to share a room if anyone else is looking for a empty bed.

I've booked all six nights at the locations Sleddog arranged. The total comes to about $508.00 but I think a couple locations (Skyline & JC Stagecoach) didn't include the tax so it might be just a little more.

RE: DakAL Trip Planning
Abercrombie, I would room with you if you don't have the second bed booked yet. I was thinking of camping along the way, but on this cold wet day, a bunk sounds pretty good. Owens.

Abercrombie, I should probably write a word or two more. I've had the pleasure of riding the last two DakAL rides that Sleddog put together, last Sept 2016 and 2015, my snoring is at a reasonable level when ear plugs are used (I'll even provide a new set). Check with Sleddog or P. Streeter for reference to my levels of orneriness and sociability. I tend to take things as they happen, make the best of them, and enjoy the adventure. I'll be riding a CRF 250L, and I don't flog the 1/4 horse much at all, as the scenery we ride through is as much about the experience as the ride itself.
Last year P. Streeter and I roomed together, which would have worked nicely again this year for each of us, but I was off grid at the time Paul was looking for a roommate.
Owens- Pata de Perro.

WOW! It only took 28 minutes to find a room mate. Your in Owens! I was going to hold out in hopes of finding a blonde roommate with a nice rack and lots of money to pay my way but beggars can't be choosy I guess. I also snore but use a CPAP. I don't know if I will throw it on the back of the dirt bike and subject it to 800 + miles of dirt but if I can throw it in the chase vehicle I will have it along.

If you can PM your name and phone number to me I will get it to Cheryl at the JC Stagestop in Aladdin. She sounds like she is anxious to accommodate everyone who wants a bed and is working real hard to get the second bed filled in the cabin I have reserved.

Give her a call to confirm but, ....I think you're in the main bunkhouse in your own room with a real bed. Only people in cots, so far, are Marlene & I.

I'll have some fresh Mobil 1 motorcycle oil in the crank case by then and I just mounted up a set of 606s with heavy duty Michelin tubes earlier this week in preparation for the DakAL and the Dakota Dual Sport Riders June ride. I won't have any MSR bottles along because I'll have the Acerbis 5.8 gallon tank mounted on the Big Red Pig by then.

RE: DakAL Trip Planning
Goodness knows what tires I will have on by then. I can burn up a rear tire in less than 3000 miles.
How many of you are coming to the Poker run in a couple of weeks to show off your stuff ?
They created a special "Trail Riders" class just for riders like us.

Dang that slipped off my radar even though I have the flyer pinned up at my desk. I'm hoping to bring the Big Red Pig XR650L for the Trail Rider Bike class and try to stay out of peoples way and meet folks from GLMC.

Yikes! Looks like I'm late to the party and rooms are scarce.

Does anyone need a roommate? If not I'll start making calls on Monday for rooms or maybe some camping gear.

There has to be a way to make it happen with four months left to go.

FNG here. Found a link to here on advrider. This ride sounds like a blast! Is there room for one more? I live in Indiana so this will be a haul for me but I think it will be worth it.

Life is short. Lets ride!
