It's a pain, but it sounds as though the Windows version has yet another difference from the Mac..... Create a waypoint in the middle of nowhere. Open up the properties of the waypoint and change the co-ords to what you need them to be. The waypoint will move to that position. This assumes that the Windows version will let you edit waypoint properties. It's not a competition, It's a demonstration.
