Propforward has graciously agreed to give us a primer on how to use Basecamp mapping software after the business meeting.
One more reason to belong to the best motorcycle club in the country.

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
Should the "class" have their own computers with Basecamp installed?

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
Sure thing - probably a good idea, people can follow along.*

Remember:

I hear and I forget
I see and I remember
I do and I understand.

Big Grin

Or some shit like that.

Remember that depending on how you have basecamp set up, it may need to access your GPS device in order to read your map data. That's how I run mine, but it is also possible to install the maps directly onto the computer when you do a map update.

*EDIT: It is not NECESSARY to bring a computer though. If we have the projector then people will still be able to see what's going on, and watch my computer lock up and reboot, the mouse freeze etc. All the real world fun.

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
I got a new computer and the silly thing doesn't have a CD/DVD drive so I had to install basecamp on it.

I played with it a little bit but I guess I have to learn it now, seeing as how my Rally computer went to crap Sad

You can get an external USB CD/DVD drive quite inexpensively.

But - after the Basecamp seminar you shall be so proficient at using basecamp, that you will have no need!

Maybe.

RE: Spring Kick off Meeting
Anyone from Westerm Iowa, NE or SD want to ride together? I'd like to leave Sioux City about 7:30 AM Sunday morning and come back that afternoon, but I'm open for alternative plans. The Basecamp class is an option too. Its just under a 4 hour drive for me. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Did anyone get an email yesterday from the website about the Spring Kickoff Meeting? It was from Jeff and I posted it to all registered members of this website using one of the forum tools.
