Ammo and GT hunting

Tired of looking at my muddy fields I decided Monday morning to go and look at other farmers muddy fields. Also getting a bit low on 22LR ammo, I would hunt for that and any GT towns I found along the way.



Got as far as Madelia and had no luck with the ammo yet. Of to New Ulm to look there.

Found this first though



Was able to purchase 350 rounds at the farm store in New Ulm, and turns out that was all I would find that day.

On my way home just north of the Iowa border



Was a nice day of riding that started off foggy and misty and then just cloudy, then sunny and warm for the last 75 miles or so.

Had a good meal at a small diner in downtown New Ulm topped off with Apple Kuchen for dessert.

Still to wet to farm here today after another 4 tenths last night.

I think I will go find a steel bridge.

I tell ya when you want rain, you cannot get it, when you don't it comes out of clouds you can't even see!
Good to see you get out for a ride, good luck on the ammo, you may have to switch to a .17 HMR for varmints, that seems to be available anywhere, but any ammo that fits a pistol or semi auto rifle, good luck finding!

I bought 100 .22 ammo bricks from Cabela's in Mitchell in 2011, and have sold all but what I wanted for myself for triple what I paid for it. Great time to be a supplier. Too bad I didn't buy more, but I was on the bike and I only bought what I could haul back.

I could have purchased all I wanted at a certain hardware store
in southern Minnesota but I won't pay $100 a brick, for plinking ammo. There is a reason their shelves were full.

What I brought home was priced at pre-panic prices.

I don't want to get into a free market argument but if some stores can sell at normal prices and not lose money, I know the others are simply gouging.

Well, I got Alpha this weekend, too. But mine was in Iowa..

Didn't think about looking for ammo because guns are evil.. (and if I were to sell all of my current .22 ammo, I could pay my house off)
A couple months ago I gave a co-worker a bulk pack of 333 rounds of Winchester .22 ammo so he could shoot his newly acquired SP101 in .22 and it was like I had donated a kidney!! I had to tell him "Enough with the Thank You's!!".. He'd done numerous favors for me over the years including signing for me to become a member at the local gun club, so giving him a box of .22's that I'd paid $9 for a couple years ago wasn't a big deal..

Anyway, my 2610 told me that Alpha, IA was about 15 miles north of where it really was..
