RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A
Scenic Overlooks.

Wabasha,MN Overlook has only the sign letting you know about the pull out.

Granite Falls,MN Overlook has a Historical Marker. " A Witness to Time". No mention of being the Granite Falls Overlook.

Preston,MN Overlook has a Historical Marker. " Preston Overlook"

Eldorado,IA Overlook has an information sign called "A Birds Eye View" No mention of overlook once in the Park. On Iowa's "River Bluffs Scenic Byway"

Other than Preston,MN. Would any others count ? Just trying to help...

If the wabasha one doesn't have a sign at the overlook, then I wouldn't count it.
All of the others are fine, the descriptive/informational/historic sign/marker doesn't need to say "overlook".
Mainly if it's a dedicated pull-off designed with a descriptive land-marker, you're good.
Hope that helps.

Thank you. This one looks like fun. Iowa's Byways Brochure also lists overlooks along their routes. Not that I'm excited or anything.

Signed up as 2-up. Wasn't able to put in 2 shirt sizes.

I still can't figure out on Ridemaster how to have multiple t-shirt selections without it asking for a price change as well.
I'll check with everyone on sizes before I place the order.

Thank you. Figured it wouldn't be an issue until we actually finished the event.

The Mississippi River Road runs through multiple states and the signs in each state specify what state it is. Can that be used in more than one state?

Yes, for your example each state counts as a point.
As long as the signs are differentiated in each state, then the road in each state can count as one point.
Mississippi River Road that you point out is a great example.
In Minnesota the signs say "Great River Road Minnesota, in Iowa: "Great River Road Iowa", etc.

RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A
I have two questions:

There is a limit of two scenic overlooks per state. Is there any limit on the number of scenic byways, parkways and highways?

Are scenic byways, parkways and highways that do not appear in any of the links to the Tour Rules acceptable?

1. There is no limit to the scenic byways per state.

2. The roads do not need to be found from the links on the rules page.
As long as it is a state or nationally sponsored scenic road, feel free to claim it.

If anyone is curious whether a scenic road will be counted, go ahead and post it on the forum and we'll try to make a determination.
Also, there is no harm in submitting the road at the end of the season, even if you're not sure about it.
If you submit a road that isn't accepted, at least you likely still had a nice ride regardless.

Awesome Idea!

Are historic trails allowable? Examples: the "U.S Grant Trail" in Missouri, the "Arkansas Civil War Trail" the "Trail of Tears" in many states, "Dragoon Trail" in Iowa or "Jefferson Highway" through many northern states..

Dust sucks so I'll lead.

Yes, a rustic road section would count, as it's a state sponsored system of scenic roads.
I would not count multiple rustic road sections as a point each, because the signage, state, and the name stays the same for each section.

For anyone interested, there is an ongoing Wisconsin Rustic Road "hunt" that will get you a sticker and/or a patch for collecting multiple sections.

RE: 2020 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A
For a scenic road such as Grafton Notch Byway( Rt26 in Maine) if there are no signs that will give a crossroad (ie Rt26 and a Street) can a sign like "Entering Grafton Notch State Park" work ??

Some of the scenic roads are more remote, do not have major roads crossing them, those that do are more like trail roads.

Connecticut has a designated listing of Scenic Roads. The sign simply say Scenic Road with the Miles underneath. Can these be used This particular one is in Farmington CT Route 10

I would allow one of those, as after research it looks similar to the scenario described above of the Wisconsin Rustic Roads.
If you find more scenic roads within CT that have different names and/or signs, those would be counted individually.
