Wind management / bobblehead issue
As some of you might know, I have Bob Johnson's 1985 goldwing now. I'm noticing that at speeds above 50, the wind starts shaking my helmet around. Obviously gets worse with more speed.

I've tried sitting differently, but I'm just too tall. I tried taking the visor off my helmet, shield open, shield closed. Doesn't make any difference. Opening the dash vents helps, but doesn't eliminate it enough.

In the past I've had those add on spoilers to the windshield, and they work okay. I have a golf cart windshield that I could probably used to make one of those. That's the plan right now unless I find something better.

Just wondering if there's some other sort of solution out there to prevent the wind from slapping the helmet around. I know a lot of goldwings have some sort of event in the windshield. Is that stock or an aftermarket modification? Don't really want to drill holes in the windshield, unless I can also block them off in case of rain or very cold weather.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my BMW 1200s. I purchased an windshield extension and that worked.

Dust sucks so I'll lead.

As far as I know, it's fixed. It's an intestate model. No onboard compressor, analog gauges, no cruise control, etc.

RE: Wind management / bobblehead issue
Kory, Let me know when your down here, I have a dealy bob deflector which you can have which I think will fix it. It may take me a while to find it, it's in my garage somewhere. It was on my old CTX windshield when I got it before I got a madstad adjustable ws for it. It's adjustable and its about 3 inches tall and about as wide as your noggin. Like this - https://www.amazon.com/Goldfire-Motorcyc...B07P1GZRL6 You can adjust with one hand while you are going down the road.

... or if you want to spend a bunch of hard earned - https://www.wunderlichamerica.com/wind-deflector.html or Givi has one for a few bucks less.

Thanks! I think I might try a step bit for some airflow to eliminate that dead air pocket first. If that's not enough, I know the add on lip thing worked on the Concours 14.

RE: Wind management / bobblehead issue
It is adjustable up and down, but only about an inch and a half. it was about a half inch up from the lowest setting, but that still wasn't enough when I put it all the way up. didn't seem to make much of a difference other than I noticed it wasn't catching the visor of my helmet when I was looking up at stuff.

Fixed. Raised shield to max height, added a vent.

Just like mine, not nearly as user friendly as the FJR
