Anybody have a passport?
Vanessa and I have started the process to get passports. They offer a Passport Card and Passport Book. If I am understanding the paper work correctly, the Passport Card seems to be the correct option if your crossing the border on land. A Passport Book seems to be more for International Flights.
Do any of you have a passport? If so is it the book or the card? What are your experiences with the book or the card when crossing the border? Is one better than the other? Breeze GLMC#500 IBA#11843 The Road Knows No Brand |

RE: Anybody have a passport?
I was told by my travel agent to expect 2-3 weeks, or drive to Buffala NY.
Please let us know how long it taks for your to arrive. --------------- Dale Ty (Ohio) GLMC #310 IBA # 21736 AMA, HOG Team Strange |

The book is more expensive than the card but it gets you across any border in the world (that you'd care to cross). The card will let you re-enter the US across a land border. When leaving the US you have to follow the rules of the country you are entering. Canada accepts the US passport card, not sure if Mexico does. Kerry |

RE: Anybody have a passport?
I have both card and book. If I were to do it again I would not get the card . For as often as I would uses its not worth the added cost which I believe was an additional $30.
My wife just renewed her passport for her upcoming trip to Mexico and it took about 3 weeks start to finish. She did not get the card. All of the applications are available on-line and you can get passport photo taken at Walgreens for about 5 bucks. Coon Rapids MN 2010 FJR1300 |

RE: Anybody have a passport?
Get the passport book.
Yes it is more money but you can use it anywhere you go. Like when you move to another state and need two forms of picture ID to even get a Driver License. I also find it is easier to keep track of the book. Just my 2 cents, Dana (opt8low) GLMC# 71 TS# 586 If your toys can't kill you, then they are not worth having. |

RE: Anybody have a passport?
I travel internationally for work, currently about a week a month out of the country. If you still have time I would recommend the book. Good for all countries and types of entry, not to mention easier to keep track of. Also don’t forget that a surprising number of countries require visa’s to be added to your passport. That process requires you send in your passport and often takes several weeks.
