Bonzai in Hudson
Saw on the other page that the Bonzai is to start / end in Hudson.

This makes me very happy and I think it's a great place for a rally HQ

Count me in.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
Saw on the annoucement page that the grand hotel is the rally HQ. Is that the hotel on the south side I-94 frontage road near the Fleet Farm?

I really like this new forum but I do not have access to post on the other annoucement page. I'm guessing it's because I am not a moderator.

I am suggesting that the conversations about the rallies get posted on the open road so everyone can post and have the conversation in one place and keep the annoucement page more down to business factual type information.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
Unlike my real garage, I'm trying to keep the the GLMC Garage forum clean and organized. There is going to be some learning curve before we get it. The Announcements Areas are for posting business related the rally. The intent is that the people posting in that area should be either the Rally Master for that specific event and Club Officers. I removed the extra posts there. The intent is that discussion about the rally, questions, ride reports and photos can be posted under "The Open Road" area of the Garage.

You can subscribe to the Announcement Area so that any posts there will generate an email to yourself. Its a pretty handy feature.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
I realized right after I posted in the announcement page that I probably shouldn't have done that either. We'll get it figured out.

According to google maps, the hotel is by fleet farm.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
I don't know if any bonuses will be near Marine on St Croix during the Bonzai this year, but it is only 20 minutes north of Stillwater on MN 95.

One of my favorite roads in Minnesota leads to (or out of depending on where you start) Marine on St Croix.

Washington C.R. 7 heading west from Marine on St Croix is pretty fantastic. Fast sweepers, tight corners, horse farms and pretty country. It's got it all.

I gaurantee I will be riding c.r. 7 west from MN 95 to US 61 during the Bonzai weekend. If not during the rally I'll do it on the way home.

I printed off the signup sheet, we'll see how quick I am to mail it in.
And since I like reminding people of their advanced age around here, I was 12 years old the first year of the Bonzai and I bet someone else around here can do even better Wink

1989, actually. And in May '97 I was only 7 years old.

Oh joy of joys . . .I was informed I will be at a training class in Chicago the week leading up to Bonzai weekend. Flying back Friday night, then heading to Wisconsin the next morning. Going to really try to get them to let me ride out to Chicago . . .
