Arm Chair Rally Results
Thanks to everyone that participated!!!!!
Who would have thought that from the four routes submitted there would be a difference of only 1054 points and 214 miles from 1st to 4th!!!!! Four totally different approaches yet so close at the end. A job well done by all. Congratulations to all the finishers!!!! 1. Stryg8r 6784 miles 18,144 points 34 bonuses 2.67 efficiency 2. Cruzin 6998 miles 18,009 points 34 bonuses 2.57 efficiency 3. DrPhill 6932 miles 17,813 points 44 bonuses 2.56 efficiency 4. JohnF 6991 miles 17,090 points 37 bonuses 2.44 efficiency only 135 points seperated the win!!!!!! I came up with a route at 3am this morning 6989 miles 20,210 points 35 bonuses 2.89 efficiency But hey I have been staring at the map for a month!!!!!! Stryg8r's route Cruzin's route DrPhill's route JohnF's route And my route Thanks again to everyone that participated it has helped me a lot in learning what it takes to be a good RM. It's better for all of us to make mistakes here and not while rallying. Derick if you would email me your address I will get with Dave Weber and get the trophy mailed out to you. Congratulations on your impressive route!!!!! Chad "Shooter" Churchill GLMC #447 |

RE: Arm Chair Rally Results
And I thought I'd screwed the pooch. As I passed Tucson, AZ heading West I started seeing other riders heading East. First it was Cruzin', then right behind him I see DrPhil. I wasn't too concerned but then I see JohnF and figure I missed something in the route sheet.
I made great time across the California Desert and Central Nevada, but had a hell of a time getting through Glacier. Must have dropped my bike 4 or 5 times. Luckily I didn't see any Moose there or in Yellowstone. When I pulled into the finish I didn't see anyone. Figured at that time I had really missed the boat. Cruzin' comes in with 2 minutes left on the clock and I know he's had great run. Imagine my surprise when they call his name before mine. Talk about a close finish, 135 points is all that separated us after all those days on the road. Great riding with everyone and hope to see you all again next year. Many thanks to Chad for all the work setting this up! Derek Duluth, MN |

RE: Arm Chair Rally Results
My 2up partner decided we had other things to do Saturday, so I started late and I didn't get the route finished. I'm still going to play with the map and see how I would have done.
