Dave Weber
Our friend Dave Weber (DrmRdr) suffered a heart attack yesterday. He will be undergoing bypass surgery today in Fargo, ND. Please take a moment today to say a prayer (cross your fingers, send a positive thought, whatever it is you do) for Dave and his wife Sharon.

RE: Dave Weber
I heard from Dave's wife that the surgery went well. They had to do a little more work then what they thought. They pulled him off the respirator early, this morning, his BP was down, and he was eating jello by 6AM.

I heard he was going to be sitting up by midnight last night, eating & complaining about things! So, sounds like everything is heading in the right direction.

RE: Dave Weber
I have visited Dave a couple of times last week, as he is in the same hospital as my dad in Fargo. He is get getting better everyday and will be in the hospital a little into this week and then likely a rehabilitation facility for a week or two. I hear from Sharon he is having lively discussions with the dietician as their opinions on future diet seem to differ. Smile

RE: Dave Weber
Hi everybody, First I would like to thank everyone for their prayers. While I am not the most religious person I do believe I cannot underestimate the power of our spirit.

20/20 hindsight being so good I could now pick out many signs that would have caught this sooner, I don't plan on going into this at this time.

Sunday I felt a pain in my chest and up to my ears, hurt to breath, and pain in my arm. Sharon asked if I wanted to go to the emergency room, but I just wanted to go and take a nap. After my nap I felt better. On Monday, it happened all over again. To breath in was hard, the air coming in felt ice cold and my chest hurt. I thought I had pneumonia. I drove to Sanford Hospital.

When I got to the Emergency Room, I was telling the receptionist there about my symptoms and a nurse was walking by. She stopped grabbed me and took me to a room right away. Shortly thereafter another nurse came in and by the time they had me hooked to the EKG, a doctor was there. One look at the EKG and the doctor said "David you are having a heart attach." He said not to worry about a thing they would take care of me. They took me to the Cath Lab where they ran a tube from my groin, to my heart in my vein to assisted my heart to pump.

Tuesday, they took me to surgery and I had another heart attach while they were sedating me. They hooked me to the heart & lung machine and continued the surgery. Originally they were thought there would be a double by-pass but after opening me up they saw the extensive blockage, so they ended up doing a quadruple bypass.

I was in ICU with pain, no food, and more pain for 3-days. Every time they brought me something to eat I couldn't eat anything. Friday night at about 9pm they had me walk out of ICU to a room on the heart ward. I have improved leaps and bounds every day sense I came out here. Eating food, loosing some of the water weight caused by all the IV's they pumped into me and walking 4-times a day.

Physical and Occupational therapists came to see me today, and because I can get out of bed, put my socks on and off, and walk so far they both signed off on my release. Medical side now needs to determine my condition and set a release date.

Still hope to attend the fall banquet in Watertown.
