Quick question - Which web browser are you guys using?

If you're using Microsoft Edge, right click on the [image: no.jpg] and/or [image: centerpoint.jpg] in post #56 and choose 'Open image in new tab' in the pop up box.

That'll open the respective image in a new tab.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - LSGiant - 05-04-2024 09:34 AM

I am using Chrome still no joy. I have to over ride my security because the web site that you share you photos on is not HTTPS so the browsers block it from showing up.
Just use the attachment at the bottom of the post screen and attach your photos.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - theemightyorbit - 05-04-2024 11:17 AM

I don't have the attachment thing in my post screen.

I dunno, maybe there's a minimum number of posts requirement to get it.

Or that feature's been disabled.

All I can do is post the physical link to the pics or post them inline with the [img] tags and hope for the best.

I figured that the viewing problem was the https thing and, yeah, I don't have an SSL certificate for my site.

I'm cheap, and I use my server space basically to host my own pictures.

I use Firefox, with the security set on strict, and I have no problem seeing my stuff, even after clearing all the cache and history.

I've messed with this enough.

As a last resort, I emailed ride master Lee and asked him about the signs.

I included the two sample shots from post #56.

He said the green and white signs will be okay, as long as they don't point to the town, or have miles to on 'em.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - DownUnder - 05-04-2024 04:03 PM

As a public service, I took the liberty of downloading both photos, then uploading them to my Google Photo Album, and using the forum software to link to them, and here they are.

By the way, I can clearly see both of the original photos posted by MightyOrbit if I use Firefox, but I can't see them if I use Chrome or if I use my Android phone browser.

I can now see both the photos in my Google Album using Firefox, Chrome & Android, so it would seem to be a browser problem with the MightyOrbit's website's older http security level.

Any question of what the tower is declaring and it probably won't count. I would suggest to be on the safe side try to find the post office or water authority office.

Thanks. This is turning out to be quite a difficult challenge. Quite enjoyable though.

How are the scores looking so far?

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Lee_0123 - 05-23-2024 02:27 PM

Lets see if we can pull together a summary.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Yzr - 05-27-2024 12:14 PM

Lapchik, per your post of 5/21, Lee reached out whilst I was traveling over the holiday requesting that I pull together and post a summary. To this end, I would ask that everyone who wishes to be included, submit pictures via e-mail to glmc2024gt@gmail.com by tomorrow at the close of your riding day, so that I can include everything captured over the long riding weekend. There is a discussion that there may be something of an interim award for the one in the top spot.

I didn't get much riding done this weekend Big Grin

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - BkerChuck - 05-28-2024 11:14 AM

I drove right past several usable signs but was doing the IBA Ride Around PA saddlesore and we were "on the clock" so I didn't take the time to stop.

Just a quick clarification. In order get the 2024 GT going and be a success Steven (YZR) and I are working as a team. Two other experienced rally riders giving us advice. Steven is handling the scoring and “back office” duties. I choose the theme, updated the rules for 2024, helped with registration, issued rally flags, and do the Q&A stuff.

BTW this is my first time doing this for the GLMC and I appreciate everyone’s patience and feedback.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Lapchik - 05-30-2024 08:30 AM

4th place will be tricky for me to grab since I have exhausted all the places within range of an after work ride, other than Minneapolis which I have zero desire to ride around in for fun. I still have 8900 miles of vacation rides planned, though.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - BkerChuck - 05-30-2024 10:36 AM

I'll have to look through mine but I think from here at work mine looks correct. I know I have a trip near the end of this event that should get me NC and SC at least. I still have a bunch in Basecamp plotted and actually passed up West Springfield, PA last Friday while on an IBA ride.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - BkerChuck - 06-03-2024 06:28 AM

I checked the official score against my list and they agree. Of course I added a few more over the weekend.
