Were the t-shirts for the International Finishers sent via Air Mail or Surface Post ??

Overseas shirts will not go out until next week. The vendor that made the shirts shipped them also. I just found out they did not do overseas shipping.

When will the trophies/plaques go out?

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - Lee_0123 - 12-23-2024 12:04 PM

Hello everyone,
My apologies, I forgot about the plaques. I'll get right on them.

I have been a bit busy. Just before Thanksgiving I got hit by a deer and went down on my right side. I was very lucky. I was wearing full gear, there was no following or on coming traffic, and I was only going about 30 mph. My injuries were limited to a really colorfully bruised right arm and a scraped elbow that did not require a bandage. Deer dead, bike totaled, Aerostich jacket wore through at the elbow, and my jeans wore through on the right bum but I had no road rash there. The plastic knuckle protectors on my gloves were really scuffed up. Progressive Insurance was good to work with. The team I worked with handles RV claims only; bikes, boats, campers, etc. I quickly got a fair price for the bike, accessories, and $500 towards the replacement of the jacket. I had a new replacement bike in a few weeks. The new bike is the 2024 version of the wrecked 2021 Honda NC750X.

Have a good holiday, again my apologies for forgetting about the plaques.

Dang, Lee!

Glad you're OK and that Progressive took care of you.

All that matters is that you are in one piece and fully functional. Take your time with your recovery.

Boy do I feel like a jerk now for asking about the plaques!

Most important thing is that you're okay! Glad to see that above all else. I hit a deer over 20 years ago myself and it sucked. Progressive is great to work with, glad they hooked you up.

Chuck,
Thanks for bringing up the plaques. I appreciate it.

The website was down for a few minutes around 12:01 pm CST today. Sorry if that interupted the conversation for anyone.

I've never hit a deer, but like most of you I've had plenty of close calls and thnk about them a lot. Its a risk we take. I have had friends killed and permannently messed up by them, so walking away from a strike banged up but with nothing permanent is a good thing. Proper gear helps. Good to hear that you are OK Lee and thanks for all the work.

Smoked a Bambi once. Put me in a walking boot for 3 weeks and took out a radiator. Anybody that walks away from an animal strike better buy a lottery ticket.

RE: 2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A - BkerChuck - Yesterday 06:57 AM

My deer strike actually took place when I was riding home from a doctor's appointment that verified I did indeed have a hernia. I was less than 300 yards from my home, coming around a somewhat blind curve and there was a decent sized doe standing broadside in the middle of my lane. There were a couple of cars coming in the other lane towards me and a guardrail on the right side shoulder. I got on the brakes as hard as possible and the only thought in my mind was "this is about to suck".

It did.

Lee, No problem but I still feel like a jerk anyway. Glad you're okay and that Progressive treated you well enough. Congrats on the Team Strange finish. Looking forward to next year's events!
