I agree I bet Nels will let you run in experienced class

Doesn't the phrase go something like, "its the rider, not the bike?" I like this idea. Put that theory to the test! Of course something is gonna have to be done with that seat, who's got an air hawk he can borrow?

The thought had crossed my mind but I don't have appropriate tires on it for that much tarmac Cool

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
I had a great time yesterday riding out to northeastern Wisconsin and back. 560 (or so) miles along with 60-70 degree temps and sunshine for a good portion of the day make for a memorable rally. I loved the road to Star Lake and the roads going through the lakes around Three Lakes were beautiful (although a bit slow...). Nels, you did a great job and I'm looking forward to next year's Bonzai. Thanks, also, to the volunteers. Good times.

Connie

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
Had a great time exploring a new territory. I hope I can go again next year to another Nels Bonzai. Met a lot of new people too! (BTW, does anyone know how to contact Derek and Rachel-2up winners? They took a picture of me rolling down the highway I would like a copy of)

Wish I could have stayed in Wisconsin, turns out Orange City got 10" of rain, and 5" of it got into my basement and killed my DeWalt tools (5 of em), water heater, and washing machine.

Thanks to Nels and Mary and all the folks that helped out.
It was just a fun day running all around to some fun places.
I really enjoyed the bonus's and the places we went.
We look forward to seeing everyone again soon.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
Thank you Nels and Mary! What a great rally all around – fun route possibilities on great roads and a great host/location and dinner to wrap it all in a bow. Thanks to Brant, Bob J (can’t wait to see the photo’s) Bill and the other volunteers for all you do. What a fun day to get together and see everybody! YeeHaa!

Clarification, it is Eric and Rachel. But you can call me Snowy.

We found Lapchik as we rolled into Rice Lake. He got rolling just before us so we just follow him for a bit. I was confident you were heading to Barron, and you were! As we made tracks south on Hwy 53, I gave Rachel the camera and pulled up along side. Enjoy.

Fun, Fun, Fun
What a weekend!!!!!!

Huge turnout of riders with lots of new faces and some old ones. I got to meet a lot of new people and put faces to names of people I have only talked to thru the internet. Of course never enough time to meet and talk to everyone so I hope everyone comes back next year. Maybe even bring a friend. Smile

Nels put us on some really good roads and cool bonuses. Some very incredible routes ridden by the top riders. One rider changed a tire and still put down a ton of miles!!!!!! He might have a little experience at both. Smile

A few envelopes got opened but everyone made it back safely with smiles on their faces and that's all that matters.

There's a smile behind the cigar. Smile

Thanks again to the rally staff and all of the riders for an incredibly fun weekend!!!!!!

If you had fun just remember that the Buffalo Run will be coming up Labor Day weekend.

And if your into old school fun Dave Webber will be hosting the BBE at the end of July. I'm hoping to have my 83 GS1100gk ready to play by then.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
I was wondering if I missed something. I have seen Bobs pictures and read the results. But I didn't see the winner of the MAC award, or a picture recognizing the Rally Master team. I guess not being there this year makes me think of these things.

RE: Bonzai in Hudson
OK so I am not real good at paying attention. After looking at the pictures again I figured it out. Cancel my last post. I thought Bob was getting the award when in fact he presented the award. What do you think of putting the peoples names in the picture so it would be easier for slow people like me could put names and faces together. I think I will quit now and go have a BIG SNORT. Some of you will know what that drink is.
Dave
