Barn Bike Enduro

RE: Barn Bike Enduro
Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been updating but I have the same problem as everyone else this year, busy busy.
I am headed to the secret location (18809 Quiet Lane, Paynesville) to finalize the route and get final details on camping. Bev and Kevin did sell the homestead but this won't affect us except they will be camping with us. I need to find out if he has a new driveway built or if we are using the old driveway. There is plenty of room for tents and motor homes. There will be fishing and pontoon rides available.
I have received 6 entry forms and at least 3 more I will be there.
For the people that want come watch their friend, partner, ride the event but do not want to ride themselves there will be a small fee to help pay for the meal, I really haven't decided what that will be. When I get back Sunday night I will try to update everyone.
Yes, riders will be able to sign up the day of the rally. Just try to give me a idea that you are coming so I can buy enough food.
Bev and Kevin are looking forward to meeting everyone. (they are the entertaining type)
Thats all for now.
Dave

RE: Barn Bike Enduro
The address (location) of the Barn Bike Rally is 18091 Rosemary Rd. Paynesville, MN. This is a new address and may not show up on the GPS, so I will do my best to explain. GPS coordinates are N45 23 760
W094 36 304. Driving directions from Roscoe MN. From Hwy 23 by Roscoe MN take CR 123. From CR 123 you will take a right onto Rosemary RD. This is a tricky intersection because there are two roads at this intersection and you don't see the Rosemary sign first. As you make the right turn off 123, Rosemary Rd is the left road on the Y. Once you are on Rosemary Rd, you go to the end of the road and there are two Lang driveways. Take the left (new) driveway. If I get the time to do so, I will put up a sign for you to follow.

Now on to some other information. Rally starts at 11am Saturday. You can sign up Saturday morning, but give me a head count soon so I can plan on the food amounts. The rally will have 3-legs, each approx 20 miles. Leg one has about 50% gravel & 50% tar. Leg 2 has about 80% tar and 20% gravel, and Leg 3 has about 80% gravel and 20% tar. There are no difficult roads this year but they are scenic and fun.

Now for camping: Bev & Kevin don't want anything for camping. I will ask for a freewill donation to help pay for the porta potty. There is lots of room for campers and tents. There is fishing, swimming, games and pontoon rides. Bring your family or friends & we will make for a fun day.
Everybody that comes will need to sign a waiver, riders will sign 3-waivers.

All riders meals are included in your entry fee. All non-riders will be asked to donate $10 towards meals.

This year you will get 2 meals. 12 o'clock on Sat and 6 PM Saturday.

The cook hasn't told me yet but I suspect 12 o'clock to be BBQ etc.

Sat night my brother-in-law is donating fish for a fish fry and Kerkows are donating pie for dessert.

A pontoon ride will be offered after supper Saturday to anyone who wishes to go.

I hope I covered everything and made things clear as mud!

Any questions email me at dsweber9@gmail.com or call me 701.200.3767

I need a Head Count as soon as possible.

Dave

P.S. We wouldn't mind a couple more volunteers to help with meals & picture taking.

RE: Barn Bike Enduro
So is 18091 Rosemary Rd. Paynesville, MN the rally start or the camping location or both?

18809 Quiet Lane, Paynesville is camping?
303 1st Ave S.E. Glenwood, MN is rally start?

A little confused

Dave,
I am about 50/50 right now. If some midweek meetings go well, I will be in for sure.
I will be just running out for the day.
See you soon,
Rich

I'll probably give this a try. A slight chance I may have to pass to do a family thing.

Remember, the 15% in the back of the pack have 85% of the fun. If the IHP is not telling you to move on every 15 miles, you are probably getting up too early, going too fast, or not taking long enough breaks. Find the "Road Pirates" and "Team NAD" and tell 'em Slim's "little" brother Frump sent ya. When you get really tired, just find something to focus your attention on in front of you which is travelling at your desired speed, it makes it a lot easier.

Dave - I'm still planning on coming up. Its going to be a zoo here Saturday and Sunday morning. Not sure if I will get up there Friday night or Saturday morning. I'll call or text Friday.

Weather looks to be improving:

82 for a High
66% Humidity
20% chance of storms

Not sure how nice of gravel Dave has picked out but we had a pretty nasty storm out that way Wednesday night, rain 1" / hour.

Plan on meeting Rich and Don for breakfast in Buffalo on the way out...unless something major happens today.

Breakfast in Buffalo:

Only thing I could find open in the morning is Perkins, it's right off HWY 55.

How does 8:30 AM sound for any that care to join us?
