RE: New Yamaha
The regular version is great in a straight line, but needs a lot of work to get it to turn. Comprable to a Kawasaki Versys. Tall, doesn't like to turn without a lot of effort.

Yeah, but I don't have a Versys Smile

I'll have to ride one myself.

RE: New Yamaha
I've ridden both. Feel about the same but the yamaha has more power and wheelies a lot easier. They did make a bunch of changes to the Kawi lineup this year too. A parallel twin cruiser, Versys 1000, and a Verys 650 tourer.

Yamaha also has an FZ07, direct competitor to the Versys

Lots of cool bikes coming out, then there is this ugly blob of a Honda.

If that is the evolution of a rider, I choose the Yamaha. Sweet beard and a spear. :-)

RE: New Yamaha
My second bike, 1980 XS650. I put 10k miles on it before I got my first Sportster (third bike overall). It was a fun bike. My first bike was a 1967 Kawasaki A7 Avenger 350. That was also a fun bike, until I crashed it.

Lots of tuning to get these Mikuni's dialed in. But I picked up 4 hp, better gas mileage and it was 2 kicks cold one kick warm.

RE: New Yamaha
Not sure what I was thinking:

Now if I can just figure out how to get the rust out of the gas cap key hole we can maybe start cleaning the tank. Its probably going to be a sponge for my left-over pennies for a while.

I'd volunteer as test pilot. Just sayin.
