Grand Tour Flag option
MikeH,
I'll volunteer to be the guinea pig! How about a PDF of the 2015 Grand Tour logo sent out on April 1st? We could print it along with our rider number. Save you from making flags. If you're familiar with the Big Money Rally, it's the same concept. Thoughts???? |

RE: Grand Tour Flag option
First off good to see you posting again
Second off as a 2 time finisher of the BMR I say stick with the flags...it's in the budget The nice thing about the printed version is if you lose it you can easily print another one but.... they really suck if you're using flash or in bright light...to much reflection if you cover them...IMHO!! So when my registration arrives I want a rally towel / flag as in the past! Wherever I may Roam... I wander... Cruzin 2012 WR 450 2008 FJR 2003 Intruder 1984 Wing 1965 Rambler "Rag-Top" |

RE: Grand Tour Flag option
How do you store/transport a printed rally flag? Laminate and roll up?

RE: Grand Tour Flag option
I think we all agreed on flags at the banquet and left it up to the Rally Master if he wanted to allow printed options.
I for one look forward to seeing that flag with the big #1 on it. It's not a competition, It's a demonstration. "Rowan" Jeff Kerkow In the Valley of the Jolly Green Giant GLMC #214 COG #7524, IBA #46513, |

RE: Grand Tour Flag option
I know we did Jeff. I was just offering to play guinea if MikeH wanted to give it a try. All it would take is to make a pdf. If not, it's no biggie.

I agree not a biggie, really up to Mike so hard to get the proper tone across the Internet. It's not a competition, It's a demonstration. No need for experimenting, I know how much easier they are to work with after teamstrange GT last year. People like the cloth flags so that's what they are getting.
Actually, just take the cloth flag, scan it, print it, and ride. Mike GLMC #371 TeamStrange #744 IBA #475 |

RE: Grand Tour Flag option
Agreed!!! Last year I stapled my flag to a pc. of cardboard which made it easy to stuff in between tank panniers and handlebar or whatever.. I think I'll take advantage of that and do the same and eliminate the chance of losing my flag like I did a couple years ago.. Luckily it was just a couple weeks before the end of the tour, but Jack and Marlene were kind enough to send me a copy, which is saved with my other rally towels...
The cardboard made life easy and wind wasn't an option of blowing my flag around while trying to get a photo. |
