Can you show me an exact example of this for the Ohio towns?

Maybe just telling you the examples are in a Highway Historical Marker, will give you the info to answer the question.

I have found multiple examples of different nouns (like industrialist) describing an individual embedded in a HHM. My rational says your approving any most in a HHM would carry over to any noun ending in "st" we find in a marker. YRMV!!!

RE: 2018 Grand Tour Questions
Oh yeah, that's fine.
All historical markers are good and any words that meet the requirements can be counted as a point, even if they are in the body of the text on the marker.

I thought you were describing multiple towns having their "town sign" that list the same word.

I realize that there will be some submissions with very high point totals.

RE: 2018 Grand Tour Questions
So, if a marker had "Oldest Fort in Minnesota" at the top and in the body of the text there were, say, 15 words that ended in st, it would be worth 16 points?

I thought the Iowa education would have worn off by now Smile

Rules aren't exactly simple, cut and dry this year. Pretty sure I slept through diagramming a sentence and underlining adverbs in school. Publick skule done learnt me good.

Bet we see Chad's old 900-ish score beat this year.

Thinking a little farther down the calendar, do you (Alex), have a preference as to how we name the pic's / files , to make it easier for scoring?

How will you submit a picture of a marker with all it's text while having your bike and the flag in the picture?

You can submit an additional picture with a closeup of the marker.

Revisiting the ruling of "1 Forest per state."

Does that mean one Forest (like trees) per state and then one can get other Forest, like Forest Park, OH Police Station, Forest Hills School District Office, etc?

OR are we limited to just the one "Forest," regardless of context, per state?

Example, the following 3 sites are ALL in Ohio.
Wayne National Forest Sign
Forest Hills School District Admin Offices
Forest Park Public Works Deptartment

Would I receive a point for each of these submitted photos (criteria of readable sign, motorcycle in photo, and rider placard in photo are met)?

TIA,
JEF - Cincinnati, OH

Correct, one Forest of "trees" per state.
All those examples you mention would count.

RE: 2018 Grand Tour Questions
How about cities like St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Cloud, etc. and signs that contain that abbreviation for Saint? Like maybe St. Peter First Baptist church=3 points? Thanks,

steve

The qualifying words need to end in "st".

RE: 2018 Grand Tour Questions
This one count? Ends in ST, but it isn't really a describing word like best or biggest.

RE: 2018 Grand Tour Questions
How about abbreviations?

A town sign like:
Deephaven, MN
.EST 1889

In your helmet no one can hear you sing.
