Dual Sport Event (Glenwood, MN)

Dual Sport Event (Glenwood, MN)
Trying to gauge interest in whether people would be interested in either a guided dual-sport ride or a dual sport rally (4-6 hours probably). Location would be Glenwood, MN with the riding area extending into the surrounding counties. Date will be next year for sure, (allows me to scout more locations) beyond that I'm flexible what time of the year it happens. Let me know what you think, and what month works best for you.

Sounds like a great idea. Could do a short, pre run in March. Then the complete run later in the year.

At the moment I've just been hitting the save waypoint button when I find something nice to look at or fun road. Going to go back to all these places and find bonus questions too. If I had been smart, I would have taken pictures of the scenert and the lat/long as I found them.

Lots of nice camping around here too.

I'd love to ride a dual sport rally. Not available 15-29 June next summer.

Sounds like great fun to me. How technical do you think it will be? Possible on a Super Tenere?

It will definitely be big bike-friendly. Hopefully I have enough time to find enough locations to make it a rally. If I can't do that by next year, I can always just do a guided ride.

Seeing the new Grand tour info, there would be one byway and two overlooks that could be done easily on this rally / guided tour. And if you go a little north of here up towards Beth's resort, (otter tail beach resort) you could get another byway too.

Hey - digging up an old subject here - I don't get around here often. Throw in another vote, I'd be interested. A DS rally would be great. A guided ride would be fun too.

Any idea if this is still a possibility this year, post-Covid restrictions?

Keith

RE: Dual Sport Event (Glenwood, MN)
It's looking very unlikely that it will be this year. a guided ride, yeah, that would be easy enough. that can still happen if they don't keep extending the covid-19 every time we get close to it being pulled.I could figure that out in a weekend. A rally? Probably not. I don't think I have enough time to plan that between having to homeschool, working on the house, and changing jobs. I keep my eyes open and my GPS handy should I find anything interesting, so a rally could happen in the future, just not the near future. There's also been talk of the pop cycle moving to Glenwood as DonQ has mentioned he probably doesn't want to do it again in Denison.

RE: Dual Sport Event (Glenwood, MN)
So, since everything this year has been canceled, I should have plenty of time to get something together for 2021. So where is the interest at? Just a guided ride (most of the day with scenic and food stops) or an actual mini rally? Maybe 4 to 6 hours?
