2024 GLMC Grand Tour Q&A

Are towns that start with GLM or C acceptable.

First paragraph of the rules...

The theme for this year is to find cities, towns, villages, boroughs, hamlets, and townships, that have compass points in the name. These places include the words: North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, Northwest, center, and Centre.


It can start with G, L, M, or C but is also needs: North, Northeast, East, Southeast, South, Southwest, West, Northwest, center, and Centre.

"Marietta" would be a nice big zero. Unless I'm missing something here.

I'm also not doing scoring. Just saying.

That one's ok. Has "center" in it. Extra point for Grundy, G in GLMC.

I still don't get the Marietta picture.

Kory's right.

Towns names that include a name/word that starts with either a G, L, M, or a C get an extra point.
Example: East Greenlane, PA would score 2 points; 1 for compass point, 1 for a town with GLMC

Clarification: the G, L, M, C bonus points are for cities and towns names only. Going to a state whose name starts with a
G, L, M, C does not qualify for a bonus point. Example: North Druid Hills, Georgia would score 1 point for “North”, 0
points for “Georgia”.

I have my pictures in FLICKR. Am I suppose to upload all the pictures to "Google Drive: in the link above" or a link from my Flickr account to the Google Drive above ?

The listing file that is to be included can it be an excel spreadsheet ?

We are working on scoring the entries. I went overboard with the bonus points and it is taking us longer to score than anticipated. Thank you for your patience.

There are two categories of finishers those that included the required proper documentation and those who did not submit the documentation but should be acknowledged for their efforts to visit 20 or more sites.

I must echo the "holy sh*t" comment. 679 points is just incredible.

Congratulations to Bill Collins, Pat MacRoy & Charles Synder on their podium places, and Well Done to all the other Finishers.

Some data points for those who can remember their Statistics 101 class :- There was a 50% Finisher rate, the average score (excluding Bill's outrider) was 72, and the median score was 53

I wonder what the 2025 GLMC Grand Tour will bring . . . . .
