Willie

No that does not count. The double letters have to be consecutive.

Yes there is! In Czech it is spelled DorCC!

Wait...why do I keep throwing up puff balls for him to knock out of the park? Sheesh, I am such a Dorcc..

ummmmm....yeah I have "gotten" a "little" start.

I will be attempting to get me a "hooker" and it won't be by "accident". I would go as far as "brilliant" for my planning but it doesn't count. Smile

Four digits?????? Maybe???? Cool

Only the Grand Pumba (AKA MikeH) in Spirit Lake will know what I'm doing this year. And you guys laugh when I say I need 3 months to route....hehehe

No further comments from me until about the end of September (we all know this won't happen....lol)

Really cool rules this year!!!!! It's going to be a really fun "summer"!!!!!!!
Rider #1 will be out to see some of you fun characters along his adventures!!!!!

RE: 2014 Grand Tour Theme
OK, I know it's too early to talk about 2015, but while looking through a list of places in Ohio tonight I thought of a possible GT theme for next year..."Saints or Sinners." Any place name with either "Saint" (or a variation like St. or STE) or "Sin" counts. Lot's of "Saints" but not so many "Sin" locations, so the "Sins" count for 2 points.

Just throwing it out there...:-)

I am going to make the most of this year! I plan to break my all time record (too embarrassing to mention here) and hopefully have a good time making a long weekend run up to Copper Harbor MI! Heck, I might even have company!

All in all I am very much looking forward to getting out and riding!

I would just go back to Canada for the Saints and rape it like I did in 2012. I could get over 50 a day up north....just saying

Gotta watch the "loop holes" cause guys like me will exploit them. Smile
On the other hand...finding the honey hole is part of the game. JohnF has been fortunate that every year western PA has had a ton and this year is no exception so what do you do?

You go out ride and have fun all summer and let the points falls where they may. The true reward is getting to see all the towns you visit not how many you visit. The contest is designed to be fun for everyone although a few of us like to chase each other and get hundreds, the point is to just get out and ride somewhere new.

I would like to see just the "sinners" no saints then we can all be really bad for the year!!!!!

Back to routing doubles. Smile

RE: 2014 Grand Tour Theme
how much of the Dalton HWY is paved now? It would be a more comfortable ride on the ultra classic....hehehe

Still not going to Deadhorse this year. Sad

Key West is a go!!!!! Going to go visit my grandparents in Sunrise, FL. No full blown massacres of the GT's on that trip but I do plan on hitting "some". Smile

Going to try and make it back to Accident, MD again but this time with Jean and last but not least I want Hooker, OK. Yes I want to be able to say my wife and I went and got a hooker. Smile

Quality not quantity....it's going to be a fun summer.

I wonder what JohnF, Willy, Bart, and the other crazies are planning? Makes you wonder. Smile

Just throwing it out there - if anyone needs an East Coast stop, I'm in Charlotte, NC. I still have a spare bedroom, secure garage, and plenty of cold beverages for anyone that wants to stop by.

Plus the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala, Moonshiner 28, Brown Mountain, Wheels Through Time Museum, and lots of other great rides are easy day trips from my house. (Have I mentioned that I love living here?!)

RE: 2014 Grand Tour Theme
So I've mostly got the official rules done, still need to get some details on prizes squared away but 2 big things I should mention
1. Welcome to town signs that the locals put up will count this year, they better look cool & unique! Still no green highway signs.
2. If there is a space between the two letters like Blue Earth, that will NOT count. I've gone back and forth with this for awhile but its really not consecutive so no points.

Grand Tour rules.

That's what I get for doing my route planning before the rules are official. I was really looking forward to seeing some really big numbers for GTs but oh well. It is the Rally Masters choice.

It's not a competition, It's a demonstration. "Rowan"
