RE: Total Eclipse
Counting down to this event. A number of friends are going to congregate in Niobrara,at the Statepark, before and after the Eclipse. This group is targeting Loup City as the viewing point. I am going to have my camper at Niobrara,we are hoping to ride motorcycle to the Designated viewing spot, thinking about getting viewing glasses, since a welding helmet is to bulky for motorcycles. We will be visiting Arlene Liska, and may be able to bring her to the total eclipse. Any or all welcome to come along!

Can wait to see it dark during the day.....kinda freaky

I just realized the eclipse was on Monday....lol

doesn't change anything for me or people staying at my house but might be smart to be ready when they get here. I never claimed to be the brightest crayon in the box. Wink

So you going to be around?

Hey Shooter,
I am still planning on staying with you. I plan on being to your home, on Sunday, around 5 or 6pm (just in time for dinnerSmile and a drink) We can talk about where the clouds won't be, so we can have a clear view of that 'Total Eclipse'. Send me your address.

Where will this be taking place at the U? Do we need reservations, or can we just drop by?

RE: Total Eclipse
Well, the eclipse was a bust for me. We got hit with big rain storms in Marne Saturday night, but heard there was going to be big crowds and we couldn't reserve a spot there, so we decided to stay in Marne and dry out Sunday night, and ride out early Monday morning. Then we then got pounded on by the mother of thunderstorms for about 6 hours Sunday night. By the time we got dried out and packed Monday morning and after looking at radar, we decided to go to Tarkio, MO for 1 minute of totality time. Part of the group made it to Tarkio, Kevin and I got stuck at train crossing in Shenandoah, IA after waiting 20 minutes for train to move out of the way, so we got to watch the eclipse from near the train tracks there. We should have stopped 10 miles north earlier where we saw a few other people setup, cause we got mostly clouded out in Shenandoah. The guys in Tarkio had more clouds and saw nothing. My wife in Sioux City got some good shots, WTF? Ran into Jayd, Shooter and Shooter's daughter in Council Bluffs, they had some really good photos but heard Shooter spent most of his time during the eclipse doing bike repairs. Carol was already heading home so I missed her. I'll try to get my photos from Marne and the eclipse posted soon.
