RE: The Grand Tour has officially started!!!
Mine showed up today at my house in Charlotte. I might get out for a ride this weekend... have a job interview down there Friday afternoon!

Well, I was able to get out...not my original plan, but rode where it was a little warmer and only had snow flurries the first two hours!

This is why we do these things.

I see I wasn't the only one who dug the Sharpie out right off the bat.. Smile

Highlighting the Orange number was needed.. And NO, I'm not complaining about the flag.. Smile I had no issue spending 1 minute to do mine the way I wanted it.

Now, if I can get some rain and get the piles of salt washed off the streets I'll actually dig a bike out and start riding. Current center lines are covered with salt and there's a salt cloud behind every car on the road.. Intersections are full of piles of salt where the trucks didn't shut the spreaders off when at the stop sign..

Sunday they're calling for rain.. I'm crossing my fingers..

No riding in Central NY today
[Image: C6C33948-65B4-4FF8-A163-AF7AE0478AAD-412...2e334f.jpg]
This is what I woke up to in Central NY this morning... a nice reminder of what I'm leaving behind!

Hopefully the weather is better in Charlotte this weekend.

I was wondering if outlining it would be better, I figured if anyone wanted to they would, save me tons of time.
Not to hijack the thread but the orange is supposed to be reflective marking paint, thought it might work better at low light situations. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll look at something different next year. This paint was the right price, i.e. free
Can't wait for the weather and roads to get better here too.

I agree!! It's visible, but I figured outlining with a sharpie would just make it easier to read.. And I can imagine how much time it already takes just to number all of them!! And then organize and package?? You've already done great!!!

Was the outlining needed?? Nope, but it's my flag and I figured I'd personalize it a little. Smile

I outlined ours also and have no problem doing it myself also. That storm Sunday really messed up riding here. I just got done painting our basement bathroom/utility/storage room and have two rooms to go and then "The Boss" says I can go. Smile Hopefully Sunday will be nice?

JohnF got a fun ride in and a few others I'm sure.

Can't wait to see everyone's pics and ride reports start coming in!!!!!

MikeH, I will be putting your reflective paint to the test and I will give you some feedback. One of my goals this year is to work on my night pics. Jack gave me a few tips last year but I'm slow on getting them to work good for me but I'm trying. Currently I'm caring my cordless 500,000 candle light spotlight....Wish I would have used it last year. The drawback is that you cause a lot of uneeded attention. Who are you? What are you doing? You realize it's 3am?..... you know the routine.

Maybe we can catch you for lunch one of these days in Spirit Lake, when we come up to get Fostoria?

Can't wait to see what we find down the road this year!!!!!!

Jean decided to get a flag this year since she went to over 200 towns last year.....lol

BTW the GLMC Off Road Poker Run is just around the corner!!!!! Hope to see some of you there!!!!

Like when you stop outside a bar at 11pm taking pictures with the flash on your camera and the drunks take 15 minutes to give you every town around that DOESN'T start with U,S, or A.

There are a few bikes out on the roads... There is still A LOT of road salt.... I'm waiting for the rain as forecasted for this Sunday to do it's job of eliminating the salt first.

And more snow in MN today - super. Anyway - I wanted a rule clarification. Only my second year doing this so I wanted to make sure. Townships are allowed - aren't they? I know they were last year but the rules just says towns so I wanted to double check.
