computer monitor question
Was using my desktop this morning when the monitor suddenly went black. Turning the monitor off and then back on the screen will show briefly and then go black again.
Did the monitor suddenly go bad or might I have some other problem? Using my laptop to post now. Any one have this happen? Farmer GLMC #83 AMA 912782 IBA 45569 GL 1500I KLR 650 NRA IFC |

RE: computer monitor question
Is it a monitor like this?
If these get too hot from dust collecting inside, they will shut off. If it is this old cathode ray tube type monitor, they just die after about 10 years for no apparent reason. Just need to blow it out if it is the heat problem. Make sure your cable is attached securely at both ends, and if the cable has screws, use them. Least likely but possible is that the video card is dying/dead. If you can hook your laptop up to the monitor, try that. At least you can narrow down whether it is the laptop or computer causing it. http://www.youtube.com/korysrides |
